My Fiancee is worried about a line she read in the K1 packet 4 letter. I copied the line from the guanggzhou website. it is: and must provide the telegraph code for their Chinese surnames and given names while filling out Items 6 & 7, which can be found at most Chinese post offices.

This is listed with the form 156 instructions. Does anyone know what they are asking about? We don't have telegraph codes in America, so I don't know what they are talking about. BUt my Fiancee says she read on the consulate interview board that someone was given a blue slip because they didn't have this. So if anyone knows what they are asking for, please tell me ASAP. My fiances family name is Wu, Thanks Bill

we covered this over at http://www.chinafamilyvisa.com

I'll suggest to you, though - that the FORM she's using is really old - the newer versions not include this stuff.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

My Fiancees full name is Jinyi Wu, or they say it Wu Jinyi. As for ti being an old form, It is on the Guangzhou website right now. I thought that was the most current.Bill

Box 6 and 7 require names both in English and Chinese. Fill names in English first and then in Chinese. Then

Put 0124 on box 6 after her surname in Chinese on DS-156 form,

put 6855 0308 on box 7 after her first names in Chinese on DS-156 form.

See the instruction http://photos.state.gov/libraries/guangzhou/47024/K34%20p4/K3%20K4%20Appointment-Nov%2010.pdf

Bumping this thread as it is relevant once again. On the P4 instructions (sent with the P3 packet) they are asking for the telegraph code for lines 6 and 7 on the DS-156 form. You can get the telegraph code using the link below.

http://www.njstar.com/tools/telecode/index.php

Unsure if not filling this in would get your a blue slip or not but best not to take a chance.
