@ Debby glad to know u r finally havin re-union n u prepared w/ coat n stuff. Hopefully, no more cold weather. When my husband came I took a coat n insisted he wear it he is like no it doesn't feel cold as soon as he stepped out he is like now I definitely need it.

@ Malvika any updates ss# on your wife. Did u check tht box for it in DS-230?

Not yet, next saturday it will be two weeks of her arrival. So I will wait until this week and if I don't receive it I will have to make a trip to my local SS administration. Yes, I had checked that box in DS-230.

My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

11/26/10 - RFE response mailed out

11/29/10 - RFE response delivered to NVC

12/08/10 - RFE response entered into NVC system

12/15/10 - SIF :)

12/15/10 - Case Complete :)

01/03/11 - Interview date assigned for Feb 15 @ 1:30 PM

01/17/11 - Medical done ! Passed

01/25/11 - Re-scheduled the interview for Feb 1 @ 1:00 PM

02/01/11 - Interview @ 1:00 PM - Approved :)

02/03/11 - Visa picked up from USEM

02/12/11 - POE @ JFK

update on my life....not that my life update is needed :lol:

Currently printing proofs to send to the hubby for our interview....a few days after CC, we received an email from NVC with all the info for the interview, and what to bring. Is this packet 3 or 4?? Will he still receive a packet from the consulate, or is this the packet we need to proceed with the medical.

@Tany that is packet 4..consulate will not send you anything..just print the appointment letter and take it with you to the consulate. It's also good enough to schedule your medical.

Hahaha...I've already prepared my hubby for arctic temperatures here so I don't think I'll meet with any resistance when I give him all his winter gear to put on! :)

First day at work after coming back today. I couldn't be happier with my wife than I am now. She's lovely and very charming--made with sugar, spice, and everything nice.

I had a great time in Bangladesh. Of the 8 days, I stayed at my in-laws for 6 days. I was treated like a royalty. It was embarrassing. My wife's mother and father are good people. May they be eternally blessed.

Now life it awesome except for the family drama that is sure to follow and has started following. Loto will know exactly what I'm talking about if he or his wife are avid fan of Indian drama serials. I hope things don't run that amok. My mother is upset that my wife got her a saree which appears to be cheap. I'm going to go all religious up yours now. In Islam, Muslims are taught that when someone gifts you even the useless hoof shaving of a goat, you are accept it with grace and thank the gift giver. Apparently this is one part of Islam, a few member of my family (and probably the whole Indian culture) has decided to not follow. Well my friends, should you ever gift me even the pus of your wound, then I shall thank you and return in kinds. CHANGE starts with me and with those whom I have influence over, namely my wife.

Good to know u r happy. I agree w/ you on tht gift thing. Marriage is definitely a juggle now tht I live w/ my parents its much easier thn living w/ in-laws. I would blame Indian drama serials for sure esp w/ women bc thts where thy learn more drama from. I think for peace this kind of shows should be banned.

Actually I think these dramas, for the most part, help bring out the ugly sides of family dynamics in Indian culture. By Indian, I mean the whole South Asian culture. From child marriage to silent suffering of brides under the hands of devlish mother-in-laws and sister-in-laws to hellish fiend of wives who tread their husband's family as trash. The more people watch, the more they realize how awful they are. Hopefully that's what the learn and not newer or better way to mentally torture each other. I do see your point, however. I just hope this generation and the next can break away from rampant family feuds. I know I am. Because I'm telling it to everyone like how it is. I might end up being the bad guy in the short term but in the long term, I think it will be worth it. I mean I will know forever that my consciousness is clear as I treated everyone with as much respect as everyone deserves. Sometimes even more. i don't know. VJ, are you my psychiatrist?

@ IS, I do see your point as well. At the end of the day its all upto the person's interpretion. I guess part of it goes to how one is raised, values and also being open minded. VJ def plays some role as psychiatrist.
