Got my SS card today! No green card yet or welcome letter.

Question: they only put my first and last name on it...no middle name like my husband's, not a problem right?

Same ish on my wife's social security card. It's not problem until when you try to file your tax return and you use your middle initial. IRS rejects your file. You have to file tax return with the name exactly as it appears. I suggest you get your SSN changed to include the middle name. I'll be doing that for my wife as soon as this god-forsaken weather passes by.

First Year Filers usually 'file paper'. That's the 'best way',really, for the IRS to 'have her number'.

File Paper, can get get ach electronic deposit.

That's not entirely true. IRS has real-time database link to SSN's database. When IRS's file processor starts on your file, it queries SSN's database using a link server right there and right then. You just have to make sure you match your names, DOB, etc exactly 100% on your filing. My problem was that I was using my wife's middle initial on the tax return. Her social security doesn't have her middle name in it. Once I figured that out I filed the return without middle initial and tax return was accepted.

I'm just happy that I will be able to pay down my credit card debt 60% after I get this hefty return. It's like a windfall for me. Yay. Can't wait 'til April 12th.

Hey everyone, been hanging around MENA lately....just an update on hubby's interview. He was denied again. For anyone that doesn't know, this is our second time through immigration. She told my hubby she doesn't believe our relationship. Interview went well too, hubby thought almost 100 percent he would be approved, when after she was done asking questions, she asked to see photos, and told him to take a seat. Called him back, and it was denied.

I'm so sorry to hear about this,Tany. We too had to go through this process twice (K1 then CR1).

What exactly though made the CO doubt the genuineness of the relationship? You must have a clue! Otherwise, how can you have the petition overturned/reaffirmed?

I was hoping that Sachin will score 100, but it didn't happen. You saw how lucky he was that they dropped his catches multiple times. He has put so much for his team now and this will be the last worldcup of his life and people want him to grab the Cup for second time as well :D

Personal update - FIL will land in New Orleans in another 1 hour time. He'll be with us from Monday onwards for 4 days. Change of Address for diff. parties after the move is getting completed :star: Car registration, Driving License from NJ is also getting completed :star: Plate return to NY will be next week. After that, Auto insurance premium re-calculation :star: Today, we have to go to the grocery store as well :whistle: Since Sat is booked for WC, I need to do car detailing on Sun :innocent:

I got NOA1 for I-865 few days back and wife filed AR-11 online last week as well.

BTW, NJ is great for so many restaurant options and Indian grocery stores :star: I am sure my FIL will like Buffalo Wild Wings grill&bar on Route 1 :star: I have never liked NJ in the past, but started liking this state :thumbs:

Good to know, thanks Indigo! It just seems weird that they would only put first-last, considering all my paperwork was filed first-middle-last. Hope the bad weather passes you by quickly.

More update :star: Since Sat and Sun both have good weather in NJ, I am confused which day to pick up for car detailing! There is a possibility to sleep after WC final match on Sat, I personally prefer it on Sun. Ok, let me do it on Sunday :star: (Team India, Good luck and best wishes to lift the cup after 28 years!)

Now home update - All brand new furniture items & Plasma TV arrived in the last 2 weeks except the cocktail table and 2 side tables. They will deliver it on Apr 6th, which is ok. I need to hold my cocktail glass throughout the sipping, and FIL as well (but he'll sip blue label) :star: (FIL reached safely in New Orleans and will be busy there until Monday evening. Then he'll come to NY!)

BTW, my wife's sister's marriage is on Sep 24th. My wife and daughter will go for one month vacation, mine will be just 10 days!

Since I don't have any pets at home, there is no update on pet front :crying:

Thanks Loto! Since my petition is at VSC I'm settling in for the wait; not as stressed with ROC as with I-130 that's for sure. Now that I have my NOA1 and extension I'm good for a year (not that I want to wait that long. laughing.gif)

Thanks Loto! Since my petition is at VSC I'm settling in for the wait; not as stressed with ROC as with I-130 that's for sure. Now that I have my NOA1 and extension I'm good for a year (not that I want to wait that long. laughing.gif)

Certainly no shortage of restaurants in NJ. Jersey really has a lot to offer, enjoy!

More I-130s will follow soon from my side - this is for my parents :star: I had tried 2 times for their visit visa and denied both the times successfully :star: Just trying for a last time, but one at a time. If they fail again successfully, I am going to file I-130 for them! But they don't want to be here for long time, they just want to be here for few months and go back. This consulate is crazy not to issue the visit visa (Denial for last 2 times were 214(b) - Potential Immigrants). Then process potential immigrant visa and use for the visit :rofl:
