Good morning, my peeps.

My tax return (filling jointly with the wife) was accepted by IRS. It turns out, she doesn't have her middle name in the SSN. I was using the middle initial in the tax return. So I file the return without the initial and it worked. Yay. In few weeks, I'll go to SSN office to correct the middle name issue. For now, it's all good. Now let's read all the comments since my last comment.

Hey everyone, been hanging around MENA lately....just an update on hubby's interview. He was denied again. For anyone that doesn't know, this is our second time through immigration. She told my hubby she doesn't believe our relationship. Interview went well too, hubby thought almost 100 percent he would be approved, when after she was done asking questions, she asked to see photos, and told him to take a seat. Called him back, and it was denied.

Got my SS card today! No green card yet or welcome letter.

Question: they only put my first and last name on it...no middle name like my husband's, not a problem right?

It is not a problem. But if you wish the middle name on it, you may correct it by filing SS-5 at local SSA office.

A quick update on family front - our little princess is turing to one next week My FIL will be here with us for 4 days, after his medical conference in New Orleans for 3 days to celebrate it with us.

Second one (CR1) must have been through. It is bit bad luck! I can understand how frustrated it is now, sorry to hear this!

I think now only option is just wait at least 2 years of marriage and go for I-130 IR1. During this timeframe, collect as much as documentary evidences of the relationship. Most importantly, frequent visits, tel/chat logs, vacation pics, financial mingling such as joint bank account at his country, get his ITIN and joint tax filing in the U.S etc. If you both can have child(ren), that would also add some solid evidence.

Going and applying for the SSN is much quicker. My wife got her SSN in 4 days. Good luck Malvika.

By the way, my tax return was rejected. Because IRS doesn't have my wife's SSN and says birthday doesn't match. But it does match.

First Year Filers usually 'file paper'. That's the 'best way',really, for the IRS to 'have her number'.

File Paper, can get get ach electronic deposit.

That's so sad to hear Tany. I donno what to tell, but it's seriously frustrating. Didn't you have family photographs to show them to consular officers?

Yes, we had photos, and she looked at them. Hubby said she was nice, and asked him like 50 questions, and he did so well. She made him feel comfortable, and he was even thinking what my reaction would be when he told me the good news, so the denial after looking at our pictures was a shock.

Of course, I was watching the WC cricket from day 1. Tomorrow's match between India and Pakistan is the high pressure match. Dishnetwork is on in the big screen in another 6 hours time Alarm is set at 4:55AM. Hey, you will wake up 25 min. earlier than me

Poor Aussies! Ricky Ponting stepped down from the captaincy after the loss against India BTW, Sri Lanka already placed in the final to meet "INDIA" (bit optimistic with capital "O") I am sure both Ind and Pak are good sides, but India has slight upper edge and depth of batting. Let's see, Malvika I want my Sehwag to trash the balls and play at least first 20 or 25 overs! Sachin and Yuvi follow...
