My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

11/26/10 - RFE response mailed out

11/29/10 - RFE response delivered to NVC

12/08/10 - RFE response entered into NVC system

12/15/10 - SIF :)

12/15/10 - Case Complete :)

01/03/11 - Interview date assigned for Feb 15 @ 1:30 PM

01/17/11 - Medical done ! Passed

Thanks Malvika.

I learned long ago that our China Consulate is most often very, very slow about processing. USCIS and NVC can be slow, but Guangzhou, China is just plain unorganized. I read that some petitions are processed in a few weeks after they get the documents from the NVC, but most often it takes many months to get an Interview.

Found out something new about calling DOS for information about a Guangzhou China Interview, that when one call DOS, they will give you a quick, "no Information on an Interview, it may take 1 to 5 months for processing". My friend just got this answer, but was lucky enough to talk to a DOS person, that would take the time to do a "real check" for information. After a 5 minute wait, the DOS person stated he has an Interview Date, 11 April. When I call DOS next week, I will have to beg for real information. :wacko::blink:

My wife still hasn't received her welcome letter. Nor the SSN. Today's the 17th day. Should I call NVC or USCIS? Or should I just wait?

It's really pain that one has to wait 5-6 months in order to get the interview date in China.:blink: They really need to do something for it.

Mine WL took 16 days to arrive. It also depends on mail delivery system. I think you should wait couple more days before you start panicking.

You had your WL on the 13th day after your POE.

Today is my wife's 16th day after POE. Still no WL. :(

Haven't checked today's mail yet. Maybe it's in the mailbox waiting for me. I'll update you later on tonight or tomorrow.

With my luck, it's still not here.

we received ours i think on 17th day. Also, the letter was dated 11th day frm POE date. So, don't worry u'll have it in this week.

My wife got the welcome letter and NOA for the green card. They both came on 10-MAR-2011. POE was on 21-FEB-2010. So it took 17 days. The letter say USCIS received our packet on 3-MAR-2011. I gues POE don't sent the packet to USCIS one at time. But they ship their craps in bulk. I'm over at Texas Service Center. The average time there for green card after POE is 3.5 months. Now we wait for SSN.

Speaking of SSN, what do you guys think of KIA cars. Specifically KIA Sportage '11. My Civic is probably going to ####### out soon. I mean it's been going strong since '89. That's 22 years of service with no major hiccups.
