Oops, sorry IS. I did not type the information correctly. I will be coming back from China, flying Shanghai to Lax, and Lax to Chicago, and Chicago to Tenn. Last year coming back from Shanghai to Lax, it took 2 and 1/2 hours to get off the Lax flight, and connect with my Delta flight to Atlanta, barely made it. I am still trying to find flights from Tenn to Chicago and then to China, but so far cost more, than going to Lax.

You'll be arriving at domestic terminal and going onto a domestic flight. So 1 hour and 20 minutes is enough. IMO. If your LAX-ORD flight doesn't get delayed.

Don't they have direct flights from ATLANTA to CHINA?

Also, where you live in Tennessee?

Don't they have direct flights from ATLANTA to CHINA?

Also, where you live in Tennessee?

In 2009 Delta had direct flights Atlanta to Shanghai, 16 hours, oooo my butt, and then 2 hours for me to Chongqing. Delta canceled those flight that fall, but are starting those flights again in June 2011, $2100, catch the summer crowd. I live near the Va/tenn border. The Tenn airport is 45 minutes away. American airlines started flights, Tenn to Chicago last summer, $300.

Both healthcare and air travel is extremely expensive in America. Which is sad because both of these industries are becoming more efficient and more profitable. Unfortunately it doesn't translate to better customer care and fair price.

Good luck on your interview, bin.

I still haven't received the welcome letter for my wife. POE was on FEB 21. Today is MAR 3. That's 11 days. Hopefully I will get it by Monday next week. Can't wait for that dang SSN to do the taxes.

I hope all is doing well :D

We received Welcome Letter and the receipt letter on 02/28, but we haven't yet received SS. It's exactly 20 days of her POE today and haven't received SS yet. I will wait for one more week if not then will make a trip to local SS office.

One more thing - I got my federa tax refund today in my bank account. Still waiting for the state :D Thanks to Loto...It was a great help with filling taxes with TaxAct online.

Binny - Good Luck on your upcoming interview. good.gif

Loto- Sad to learn that your home buying plan is suspended for now. But I would say Things happen for GOOD :D

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

Social Security says you can visit their office after 3 weeks. Your wife's POE was 20 days ago. So if you don't get anything by Monday, you should pay a visit on Tuesday. If they already issued her a SSN, they can just give you the number. You can wait for the hard copy still.

Bought my ticket to China today, $1399. Ticket has been running about $1600. Waited as long as possible, waiting on any Visa Interview news, but nothing. Was hoping for an April Interview. Summer months are just too hot and too much pollution for me to handle there.

Met in 2004 at a Dave Matthews Band concert, started dating November 2005, engaged February 2009 and married November 14, 2009. Together in the US on March 19th 2011

NVC: (93 days)

2010-10-06: NVC Case Number assigned

2011-01-05: SIF and Case Completion!
