What is the estimated time right now to get a family visitor visa? Let's say we submit them online today?

Hi Kenza,

I think it just depends on the availability of an interview - when we submitted the application (last June) we scheduled an interview for around two weeks later, and the visa was ready the day after the interview. So if all goes well the process can go really quick.

Does it really go that quickly? I thought it took years to process based on the stats on USCIS??

Ah, ok! So what is the form you file for a family visit? What are the things they look for and what would be a basis for denial?

It was my understanding that the visitor's visa was very difficult to get in Morocco. Kenza, is that what you are applying for? I'm just thinking it would be nice if some of my husband's family could visit at some point...especially his mom when we start our family.

I noticed when I waited in line with Chrif for his visa to be issued that about 95% of the visa issuances that day were older people getting visitor visas and students. I spoke to a man who was going to visit his son in college, and he said he had no trouble getting the visa.

My MIL as well as her brother had no problems getting his visa. My single, 35 y.o. BIL, on the other hand, was denied.

It costs $140 at the consulate to apply, and I don't think an invite is needed. A letter from you and your husband might help, but its not necessary.

So parent inlaws both got 10 year visas and brother in law finds out how long his visa is for on Tuesday. The funny thing that happened though, when my father in law got home, he noticed that he had the right visa but in someone elses passport! So they go back Tuesday to pick up my bil visa and correct my fil visa can't wait for them to visit this summer inshallah !
