He sent back the packet 3 info and the checklist on Friday via fax to Vancouver.

Yesterday he got a phone call from unemployment verifying a date as to when he came to the states. The woman had said xmas 03 (which we weren't even together in 2003). He first came in xmas 04 but the thing of it is he has never been unemployed at xmas time. I am not sure if this phone call stemmed from how he filled out the DS-230 or his ex-witch trying to start problems. He gave the woman the dates he was in the states and then she hung up before he could ask any questions.

We are very puzzled by this phone call.

It would seem to me that there is a better chance an "ex-witch" was the cause of unemployment having any questions then it having anything to do with his DS-230. It's possible it didn't have anything to do with either .. Who knows when it comes to UIC

When Unemployment called me, they clearly stated who they were and were very professional.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

They could not misrepresent themselves they need to state who they are and the reason for the call. Either EI or USCIS. Why would USCIS care about Canadian EI ????? Ex-witch for sure, how long have they been separated/divorced? Do they have any kids together or is she just a nut bar ?

If you got a call from EI in Canada, that may be all it was: someone verifying dates and eligibility. I can't imagine USCIS getting in touch with EI in a Canadian province.

Is there a previous spouse who's hurt and wants to cause harm? If so, you may want to resolve any issues before getting married.

Well I guess the embassy wasn't too concerned because we have our interview date. He did say that on the caller id it said it was unemployment or something with a toll free number on it. My inclination is its his ex-witch causing problems. She has caused lots and lots of problems since she moved out years and years ago. She has made our lives a living he!!.

Thanks everybody for your thoughts!
