after worrying for seven months because i had overstayed 3 and a half years i was finaly approved after 7 months,

so word Of the day is APPROVED, YIIIIIPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEE

Don't be surprised if at your interview they require you to do an I-601 for the Overstay and charge an additional $585.There is no set time frame for approving this waiver but be ready for delays.

Hey Wade....glad to see you posting. you'll have a good 601 so it should not be too long until your wife is home. it's just a pain in the bottom and especially in your case since you were not expecting it. Are you using a lawyer for the 601? With a good waiver, your wife and baby will be home to you within a month.....keep positive! We are all cheering for you!!!good.gif

Hey guys It has been a while. I was extremely busy, computer crashed (thank God for warranty) and then I got so sick. I got pneumonia and I was pretty sick.. I am feeling much better.

Well I just gotta tell you where I am... I hope everything goes smooth.. we sent affidavit of support and apply electronically for visa so it seems that the last step is waiting for interview.. It seems that we will have to apply for the waiver also because of the overstay..lawyer is saying no more than a month after the interview because of my daughters situation... how long after you apply for visa do they give you the interview?

Glad you're feeling better.

What dates did you send in the AOS and IV apckages? Has your case been completed at NVC yet? Getting an interview date after CC varies by each embassy/consulate. I don't know the wait times for Mexico.

The only notification you're going to get is a case complete email. They don't email you when they receive or review files, you have to call an operator to find that out. The online DS-230 is called the DS-260. It's the same process for Canada. Did you email the supporting documents (passport pics, marriage cert., birth cert, etc) for the IV package after you finished completing the DS-260?

yes, we mailed all the supporting docs. Now, I guess is waiting for the interview right? how long until they email case complete? and how much longer for interview? we were going to try to expedite but we were told that sometimes it takes longer since they send your case directly to the embassy and Juarez in Mexico is behind .. it will be faster to do it the normal processing time.. I say in June we go to the interview...

You're waiting for case complete now, not an interview date. If you just emailed your documents last week, it'll take about 2 weeks to review both packages and then case complete if no RFEs. After you get a case complete, then you're waiting for an interview date. And I can't predict how long that will take as I don't know the processing times for Mexico, only Canada.
