Here is an excerpt from the story on government shutdowns: My link

Last time it happened in 1995 it was 3 weeks. The time before that it was 5 days.

4. Visa and passport processing will be delayed.

The U.S. tourism and airline industries reportedly lost millions of dollars after the 1995-96 shutdowns halted visa and passport processing. Approximately 200,000 U.S. passport applications went unprocessed during the shutdowns and 20,000 to 30,000 foreign visa applications were unprocessed.

I just got off the phone with a very polite and helpful NVC operator; maybe this info will help some of you.

My case was shipped to NVC on February 16. She said they have received it but it is still being "sorted" and to call back on Monday. I also asked her if my approved expedite from USCIS carries any weight at NVC. After a short period on hold she told me this..... She said that the USCIS expedite is different and does no good at NVC. She said that once I receive my NVC case number that I needed to call back (talk to an operator) and request another expedite. She also told me... "IF" the expedite is approved, they (NVC) will send the petition straight to the Consulate and they (consulate) will continue/finish the process. So.... in a nutshell.... if you have an "approved expedite" from NVC.... they will send it directly to the consulate and you will either send all of your documents to the consulate, or hold on to them and take them with you to the interview. I don't know how many of us can get an expedite at NVC but, we can always throw THIS in their face... especially the part where it says "Additionally, we have briefed the Department of State’s National Visa Center about these cases." Hopefully this helps some of you (us).

No wonder none of us got approved at TSC.... they apparently don't approve ANYTHING

Looks like they updated the Volume from Dec 2010. TSC's volume is 0 across the board.

Around next Monday, start calling up NVC to see if a case number has been assigned.

Congratulations to all approved tonight so far ...

Where is Saylin!!! to update the spreadsheet? ... Lately, Sayling's performance is getting similar to that of USCIS staff ... we should complain to Mrs. Borrows about her!

blink.gif Um, I'm here. Never left. And the spreadsheet is completely updated.

Maybe the good Doctor will oblige (cellDOC)

We encourage you to continue monitoring the progress of your case by accessing My Case Status online. If you do not see any action on your case, such as an approval, denial or an RFE, by March 1, 2011 you may contact USCIS at:

I-130Inquiries.Tsc@dhs.gov

OK, My Case Status is USELESS.

I-130Inquiries.TSC@dhs.gov will get you a canned response...............

USCIS needs an enema STAT!!

laughing.gif I don't understand why someone thinks I'm slacking. This thread is open in its own tab ALL day on my browser and I refresh it as soon as I get an email notification. As soon as someone is approved or gets a case number, I immediately update the spreadsheet. I don't know what else I can possibly do blink.gif
