It goes without saying of course that one advertising gimmick is not representative of the standard of teaching at the college.

I can see why they did it - after all, isn't support for Bush lowest amongst youth (the 18-25 age group) - who form the largest body of college applicants? That would be my guess anyway.

Yeah, but as someone who has quite a bit of experience with University marketing, it's important to not only target the applicant market, but also their parents and also still be respectable to outside instituations. This one abandons the second two. While it may be popular with the 18-25 set, I betcha it'll be pretty frowned upon by the older groups (and not even necessairly for it's specific message, more for it's lack of tact).

Considering that the parents (in most cases) pay for the college education that's a good point.
