Police Reort from Holland

My husband needs to get a police report from Holland as he lived there at a Canadian Military base for a few years after 16. When trying to find how to do this, it seems I keep getting hits to request a NETHERLANDS police report. Has anyone else here know if there is just one address to request this for all 3 countries that are considered "Netherlands?" Or will each country have it's own? I am at a loss because I cannot seem to find Holland only.

This is one thing the consulate has to do for you, you need not do anything, other than inform the US Consulate you are dealing with that you cannot obtain them, the consulate has to do this.

Police Records

Available. Police records can only be requested for immigrant visa applicants by the United States Consulate or Embassy where the applicant's case is being processed. Any certificate presented directly by applicants cannot be accepted. To request a police record, the visa processing post should send an email to the Consulate General in Amsterdam at ImmigrantVisasAMS@state.gov. The request must include:

• Applicant's full name(s) including aliases:
• Date, city/town and country of birth;
• Complete address of last residence in The Netherlands.

The Consulate General in Amsterdam may need up to 15 working days to obtain the certificate, provided there is no derogatory information concerning the applicant. If there is derogatory information it may take up to five weeks.

The certificate, which is in the Dutch language, covers criminal investigations only. Criminal records are expunged after a number of years, depending on the offense, following termination of the case (i.e., after service of any prison sentence) provided no other offense is committed in the interim. Police records may, therefore, not constitute a full summary of criminal records. Applicants with a criminal history can obtain their own conviction record from the sentencing court.

These certificates may be used only in processing immigrant visa applications and may not be given to the applicant or to any private individual. The visa applicant may not be informed of the source of any derogatory information contained in the police certificate.

I apologize for the confusion, but none-the-less, I am confused. It says that we should be getting these ready for the interview.... (Pre-Interview Items) 9. Police certificate(s) **

He needs Canadian and Holland. So the Consulate will have to request it? Do I need to request that THEY request it? Or will they do it on their own when they see his BIO form that lists all the countries he's lived in after 16? How do you know if YOU have to get the report or if THEY will request it? I was under the impression from reading on the forums that we would need to get his Canadian one ourselves.

Yes you will need to get Canadian police cert, however, the consulate needs to request the one from Holland AKA The Netherlands... as per the DOS page and link quoted above.

That is a good one, If I were doing this, I would make a call to NVC after NOA2, NVC handles document processing in IR-1 / CR-1 cases, the police certs gets handled by them during this stage, so more than likely NVC will make the request to US Consulate Netherlands..

Since you were so helpful before, I thought I could just ask another question. Since the NVC will be doing the requesting for the Police Report from Holland, do I need to concern myself at all with Translations? The website says that the report will be in Dutch, so I am assuming they will deal with translation on their own since I am unable to request it on our behalf??
