The earth is 6 billion years old and we are worried about the last 7 out of 8 years? What about the last 7 out of 9 MILLION years? Oh, we only have data for the last 110 years so basically...we have no effin' clue! Since CO2 measuring began? When? 4 billion years ago? 1 billion? 1 thousand years ago?

Warming is global but it is cooler in some places?

Let's put this in context. There are 6 billion people on earth. So you are going to ask 8 of them a question and go with that 7 of them say and then say it applies to all people in the world?

Have you any clue what a tiny sample you are speaking of? The data is so....oh never mind. Here, have another glass of Kool aid. It doesn't matter anyway. Global Warming is dead because the funding for it died. The US is the only country that elects politicians so stupid that they would blow their own economy's brains out over something that doesn't exist. Since most of them have been replaced and they are no longer a majority in the house, the issue is dead.

We will see if OPEC countries take up the slack and stop sellling fossil fuel to reduce carbon emissions. Maybe OPEC will save us from ourselves.

The ice contains trapped gases that do help scientists make a pretty good determination of both average temperatures on the planet as well as CO2 concentrations, etc. Yes, I know that is still just a moment when you consider the planet is 6 billion years old but it is still far more than just 110. And I do see the relevance of the fact that the warmest years on record were the most recent. That does not prove the theory conclusively but it is strong supporting evidence. While much remains to be learned, much is already known. It is unfortunate that this has become so politicized. Science and politics do not mix well, especially in this tea party age where black becomes white and up becomes down.

We also have found primitive farming implements under the ice of Greenland. How did the earth become warm in that area at that time? Flintstone SUVs?

It is preposterous to imagine that mere humans have anything to do with the earth's climate. Your ice core samples will show that the earth had a climate long before we arrived and that it changed all by itself and I imagine it will continue to do so despite the best taxation attempts of any human government.

I just think we need a few thousand more years of accurate data. The graph Dakine posted shows the temperature is going back down. I am optimistic.
