My husband and I filed I-175 last year and I received the decision that my conditions were removed in May '10. We separated some time in August last year and today we agreed to go ahead and file for a divorce. In the mid time my husband got into some legal issues and told me today that our marriage might be questioned again in front of immigration (think he was involved with the woman as well) . I am so fed up with his lies and all I really want is to get out of this relationship. Is there a chance I could lose my permanent GC at this point?

NOPE, you have PERMANENT residency, it has NO conditions.

At the time you removed conditions you were married and living together, that satisfied the conditions. You seperated after the conditions were removed, not before, you divorced well after conditions were removed.

NO Worries. There is NOTHING your spouse can do to cause problems with your residency.

Also there should be no problems later should you apply for citizenship.

It sounds extremely unlikely that this would be the case. If you were legally married when you submitted the I-751 application and were still together when the decision was made and you married in good faith I don't see if there would be any grounds for immigration to consider otherwise. Your separation didn't occur until several months after you received your 10 year card and you have only now decided to get a divorce. From the sounds of it, it is your husband who is leaving the marriage through his involvement with someone else. Unless there was evidence that you two got married solely for the sake of you getting the green card it is very unlikely USCIS will bother looking at any allegations someone else might offer at this stage in the game.

Collect the evidence you do have now that you were still living as a married couple as of last August (and before hand as well) and any evidence that shows you worked on the marriage in the meantime. It is unlikely you will need this evidence but if any one threatens you with 'removing your green card', you can safely say you are ready for any questions anyone can ask because you have the evidence proving you had a valid marriage and entered into it with the expectation that this would be a life long marriage and not for any ulterior purpose. It should silence them up.

It sounds like either your husband or his new love interest might be trying to cause trouble. It sounds like you are well rid of him.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
