hi everyone, thanks for all the help from visajourney, my wife has recently received her two years conditional green card. She is going to college right now. I am just wondering if she applies for FASFA (finial aid) and receives student loans and grant, would this count as receive benefit from government. will this hurt us when it comes to ROC. thank you very much!

you can apply, but if u would say counted towards the benfit received from govt yes, would it be counted against you most likely no. It not counted against you intil you are public charge.

Hogswallop. You are perfectly entitled to apply as a qualifying non-citizen. The only condition is you must have your green card in hand before you apply, because they cross-reference your immigration status with the SSA and USCIS.
