Son wants to work summer in USA

I have no clue how to do this.

I am about to get my CR-1 visa and after I do, I will start the process of getting my 16 year old his visa. He would like to go to College here after high school and possibly live in the USA for good.

In the meantime, he would like to come and stay with us in the USA during the summer and find a summer job. After summer, he will go back to Canada and finish our his final year of high school.

How can we go about doing this? Is there some sort of visa he has to apply for so he can work?

Sept 19, 2011- Filed I-130 for my son (his step son)
June 14, 2013-APPROVED, 10 YR GC IN THE MAIL

Mar 3, 2014- N-400

May 12, 2014 Interview for Citizenship- PASSED!

June 12th, USA citizen - Oath Ceremony...all done here!!

A J1 visa may work, for paid work experience/ internship.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Not going to happen for this summer, legally. The simplest method to get work authorization would be to immigrate.
