Where in hxxx do you get that I felt demeaned??!!!! I think it is great and I truly was curious. I am sure that as an individual he met some unfulfilled need or combination of needs in his unique way. And possibly it was due in part to the cultural differences involved. What is wrong with that?? I find it rather cool that we have the ability to expand our horizons in such a way. I am happy for her and them! Seriously!!

I think the problem is that you're asking an honest question with the hopes of a real answer. I think people are just taken aback by that since it happens so rarely around here.

You don't have to feel demeaned in order to be demeaned. And you're right, I think we look at this in different ways. I appreciate the fact that your desire to stereotype doesn't seem to be mean-spirited, unlike some others.

I think that making the sort of generalizations that you seem to be after implies that people of a certain culture are to some extent interchangeable. If you're looking for a spouse by going through a sort of checklist as opposed to a bigger picture assessment, then if that doesn't work out you can just go back to the drawing board and go through your list again and find someone else suitable. If, for example, I said that I prefer my Moroccan husband to American men because he makes great mint tea, do you see how that implies that *any* Moroccan man who makes great mint tea would have sufficed?

So the cats out of the bag!! teabag that is. It's the mint tea.. I had always heard that Moroccans made better mint tea, but I thought it was a myth. I suppose you get your crumpets too.

What American man could compete with tea and crumpets??

So true. I have also found this true with guys who whine about "Nice Guys Finish Last" and women only want bad boys who treat them bad. Its just easier to blame women rather than to self examine their short comings or issues.

I seriously would like to know what are the particulars of my shortcomings or issues that in the USA I am not interesting for women, while in Russia, Ukraine, and other FSU countries many women, some of them very attractive and interesting, found me to be a great guy and very likeable. The only conclusion I have so far is that women here don't find me attractive, while in eastern Europe the women always took the time and made the effort to get to know the real man under the unattractive facade.

If that is the case, what should I think about the women who think of me in a negative way without even trying to get to know me?

Sure. I did. I lived in Ukraine and still own property there (paid for in full) and we still spend a good part of the year there. Enough to make it worthwhile to keep our place there. In the future we will probably live there more than here. Alla needs to stay here for three years to be a citizen and then we can go anywhere for as long as we want and she can maintain her citizenship here. Better to have access to more of the world. Increases choices and I am pro choice. What's the point?

She may have. So what? I really don't care. I am pro choice and Jenn can use ANY method she CHOOSES in selecting a husband. Just as I can use any method I choose to select a wife. No one has to like it except the two of us. Alla seems happy and I know I am. Alla LOVES to be objectified by her husband. The more objectified the better! and I assure you, she is a real woman, head to toe.

Women raised in the Soviet Union have a very deep regard for enduring qualities. Too much was taken away and lost in their lives and they do not desire things that vanish in time. They also put huge emphasis on their children and what is best for them. In short, they are not selfish. Women who are not selfish make great wives! And YES that means almost any Ukrainian woman would be better than almost any American woman, in my opinion and it is why I simply ruled them out as a possibility. The looks of the man rank way down on the list of bona fide qualities (and I realize I am doing myself no favors in saying this ) It is simply true.

I laugh when people (women) here think that our wives think they have hit the jackpot if their husband makes $60,000 per year. Actually they live quite well on a fraction of that in Ukraine. Alla made about $1500 per month and lived VERY well for that amount supporting herself, two children and her mother. Don't be fooled by the "average" income of $300 per month in Ukraine. That average is taken from what taxes are paid on. The average person claims less than a third of their real income. Nearly everyone works for "black money" either entirely or largely. They also know that it takes much more to live in the USA, they are not stupid.

Alla's life has not been material improved very much since moving here. Our flat in Ukraine is very much equivilent to our home here, at least in furnishings etc. Yes, she has a car she never dreamed of owning, BUT she never needed one in Ukraine. The dishwasher is more an improvement for Pasha than for Alla. Shoes and clothes are cheaper so she has more of those. But she didn't even know that benefit until she came here. She didn't desire a green card so she could get more shoes (with heels, of course)

The beautiful women haterz have no interst in the abilities or education of our wives. They are beuatiful and therefore they MUST be hated. So you may as well know that they look best with the lights on and their clothes off.

It is funny, really. I love when they get all worked up.

PS nothing is going to change.

PPs Alla wouldn't give two cents for a man that can make tea (or any other women's work) But a man that can build a dining table and chairs or a King size bed with built in drawers for quilts is GOLD.

The "hatred" as you put it has nothing to do with what your or anyone's wife looks like - rather it lies in the crass and demeaning objectification they are being subjected to by husbands who present them as material things, rather than human beings.

It's not about your SO, it's about you and how you comport yourself.

Gary - I just think you should emphasize your wife's brains and abilities over her looks. No one here is saying they're jealous of her looks. No one here is saying they're jealous because she's "hotter" than they are. What everyone is doing is sticking up for your wife and saying "look...Alla is much more than just a pretty face" and then you just reply with stuff about her looks and that's wrong. You should say yes my wife is beautiful to me, but my wife is my wife and I love her for her, not for her body or her high heels. The way you talk about her it sounds like you only love her for her looks.
