VFS Office in New Delhi

Folks,

THe packet 4 checklist has everything which you need to provide to the case officer (and need to submit to the VFS office before the interview). Does that include:

1. Passport

2. Evidence of ongoing relationship

Seems that these 2 items would need to be hand-carried, right? I mean, can you even get inside the embassy for the interview without your passport?

KP- you don't submit your passport... they will put some kinda bar on the back of the passport which will allow her to enter the building.

And as far as I understand it it is not even necessary to submit all the documents. If that is the case, isn't it worth to just hand carry the documents ...We are thinking of hand carrying the documents i.e. if we can get the police certificate .....

He got the passport clearnace today after paying 1500 to an agent ! Thank God ....

You know -- these guys at the VFS office are such jerks -- when my wife went there to ask them a few questions, they told her that if she does not submit her documents, her interview will be cancelled. I cannot believe they would have the audacity to say something like that on behalf of the US consulate because it clearly states on the embassy website that it is strongly urged that people submit the documents at the VFS office.

difficult situation ....dunno what to do..Shalz how did yr fiance get away with not submitting the documents ?

Timesnap -- When my fiance/husband went to the VFS in Chandigarh... They said they wouldn't accept the courier fee nor the documents.. because you have to submit that 10-15 days prior to your interview. Even after arguing they didn't listen. and then I emailed the embassy and explained the situation... and the embassy told us that we could contact the VFS in delhi.. so we did... and they told us we could submit it there... so my fiance went there to pay the courier fee and they didn't fuss about submitting all the documents. I guess we got Lucky, huh????

Plus, our story was different.... when we got the interview letter, we only had 10 days left... and he still had to get his medical done... tho he did have all the other documents in his hand.

Any of you tried VFS in delhi.

I had no option but to submit to the VFS... I had my interview back in June - but all's well that end's well... the Consulate had my passport and it seems they have approved my visa too.

I did have the greatest pleasure of telling the VFS that they were nothing more than a collection point... and had nothing to do with actually processing the visa. The supervisor agreed with me, albeit reluctantly.

My wife had dealt with VFS Delhi, not C'garh. It's those Delhi guys who were the ignorant *($#@ (in plural).

Any of you tried VFS in delhi.

Melo -- I wonder if they will remember your name so we can use it as a reference -- someone needs to give these guys a dose of reality. I think the attitude stems from jealousy and in that one moment of time, they seem to get the gratification of getting a false sense of "I can mess with your life by causing serious inconvenience".
