Yes, you need to file an I-865 anytime you the sponsor moves.

This only stops when:

  • Sponsor dies
  • Immigrant dies
  • Immigrant naturlaizes and becomes a US citizen
  • Immigrant leaves the USA and abandons residency
  • Immigrant works and is credited with 40 quarters of work.

This is so the .GOV can track you down an extract any chargeable benefits the immigrant may use.

AR-11 can be filed on line, this results is a quick update of any pending petitions or applications, https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa.Terms

I-865 needs to be mailed within 30 days of any move.

Cool thanks for the replies. That was helpful.

So if i forgot to do the I-865 (planning to do it now, and send it in), is this going to be a problem for removal of conditions? It's been ~ a year

Just did the AR-11 online for my Wife. I hope this isn't going to be a problem for us. I can see people forgetting to change address. In our case the old address is even valid, since it's where my family lives (and we live for long periods of time). Although all evidence we are sending for i-751 is from our new house. Any one have experience with this?

Thanks again.

Should be fine with late filing I-865. I have yet to see someone post having trouble about late filing that form.

Thanks that really makes us feel better. Do you have an idea of how long the I-865 will take? and if we should just wait to file our I-751 for a little while?

Just file it, and then file the I-751, no need to delay filing I-751:

Wow, we moved half a year ago, and I filed AR-11 and thought we were good. We totally missed the I-865 for my husband, the US Citizen. I'm so glad I read this thread before filing for ROC.

I have not heard about anyone getting in trouble over I-865.

For example, I sent ours when we moved (a year and a half ago) and never got a receipt. So I just pretty much said - screw it. If they got it, they got it.

I mean it's still good to send the form (that's what we, USC, are supposed to do) even if it's later after moving.

Слава Україні!

do I sent in this form with my I 130

The I-865 is for a sponsor that has previously filed an I-864 for someone to report a change of address to the USCIS if they have moved. There would be no reason to send this form in with an I-130 petition > http://www.uscis.gov/i-865

I-130 and adjusting status? If you are in the US on a work visa, then you should send the I-130, I-485 and all supporting forms and documentation together at the same time. That would include the I-864 affidavit of support form. The fee for the I-130 is $420 and the fee for the I-485(plus the I-765 and I-131) is $1070.
