Hi everyone,

this may be a stupid question and I'm sure that we are far from moving at this point but I just want to have a general idea of what we can and can't bring!

Specifically, my fiance works with eletronics and would like to bring all of his tools and whatever else goes with that , does anyone think that would be a problem?

Did anyone ever have to pay duty for anything?

Also, is it OK to cross on a Sunday?

You don't pay duty unless its a brand new item you just bought.(even then they might not check his things.)

You can cross on any day. Bring 6$ USD they charge you for the I-94.

K-1 visas are allowed to bring all their personal belongings free of duty. Including 1 car import.

I brought all kinds of my tools for veterinary assistant plus boxes of text books from school, plus like 4-5 computers, 2 laptops, computer parts and screens, etc etc.

I don't see why he couldn't bring his tools.

Label the boxes also with numbers, write up a sheet of the contents of the boxes for the CBP. They may not even look at it but if they decide to its good to have it.

He does have a beutiful plant I wanted, guess we'll have to leave it behind....
