i received this email from my consulate after advising them of a change of address:

"We have received your approved petition. We do not process applications for fiancée visas unless you are a Canadian citizen, a landed immigrant in Canada, on employment authorization or are pursuing a full-time academic program of at least a year's duration. If you are in one of these categories, please provide evidence from a Canadian authority.

When communicating with this office, please contact us by e-mail at Vancouverk@state.gov or fax us at (604)685-7175. Please provide your name and case number.

Once we receive the document for your status in Canada, we will mail your packet #3 along with instructions for processing at our post."

would faxing a copy of the main page of my passport and/or certificate of citizenship (small card) be sufficient? or are they looking for 'real' copies of something else?

How strange since you already got your NOA2 which would have said you were a Canadian. Did you include your passport copies in there?

Yes, strange. But, you could always email them your question, Vancouver gets back to email very quickly, especially if it is in the middle of the week. Did you get your long for BC? You could always fax that cause that proves citizenship too.

I agree, it is a little strange.

Well, I became a citizen in 2001 when I was 17 (immigrated here in 1998 from the Philippines) so I only really have my Certificate of Canadian Citizenship and my Canadian Passport as proof. My NOA2 has "Manila" on it for some strange reason (did CSC/NVC mess up?). Maybe that's why they're asking for evidence...

The first time I emailed Vancouver, it took them a week to get back to me. So this time, I think I'll just fax them what I have and e-mail them letting them know what's coming their way... if it's not what they want, they'll tell me what they want. And if it is, then there we go.
