embassy tell to call back in two months for K-3 packet

hello,

can any one tell " how much time do embassies take before sending packet 3 for k-3 visa to spouse"?

I am USC and called US embassy in islamabad, pakistan today and they told me to call at the end of october or beginning of November to find out if we have sent packet 3 for my wife K-3 visa. I was simply stunned and numbed. This cant be true, Hell.They have received the packet from NVC on 8-20-06.

It means it will take them more than 2-3 months to just send packet and another 2-3 months for interveiw and another 2-3 months for visa approval.

Can any one help. My mind is numb :help:

I-130 sent on may 2, 06

NOA-1 on may 18, 06

NOA-2 on August 15, 06

NVC receives packet on Aug, 24 06

I-129

I-129 sent on May 19, 06

NOA-1 received on June 3, 06

NOA-2 APPROVAL on August 10, 06

RFE IMBRA received on July 3rd, 06

RFE Received by USCIS on July17th, 06

NVC receives packet on August 14, 06

NVC sends packet to pakistan on August 15, 06

Embassy in Pakistan receives on August 20, 06

August 29, 06 : embassy tells me to all after in the end of Oct or beginning of Nov to see when will we send packet 3 for my wife K-3 visa interveiw... I need help here. is it normal for embassies to take that long

Don't panic, khattak. Check the detailed timelines of other peoople going through your embassy. It probably gives a truer picture of what to expect.

I-130 sent Mar 30, 06

approved Aug 15, 06

I-129f sent April 24, 06

approved July 27, 06

Montreal interview Jan 18, 07

POE Toronto Jan 28, 07

EAD sent Jan. 30, 07

transferred to Vermont Feb 12

biometrics Feb 22

approved March 13

card returned undeliverable! March 27

called after 6 weeks to have EAD re-sent

AOS sent Jan. 30, 07

biometrics Feb 22

RFE for complete medical (!) Feb 23

Called Senator from NJ - never returned call

the reason why they telling you 2-3 months is your I-130 is about to approach the

embassy. they are gonna cancell it on you. so they waiting for the I-130.

so you are implying that this is normal and that the embassy can impose on me to choose CR-1 over k-3.

I hope this is not what you mean

THAT SUCKS BRO,I DONT THING IT SHOULD TAKE THAT LONG,USALLY K3 IS SHIPPED TO THE EMBASSY UNDER EXPEDITE IV SECTION,THAT MEANS THE EMBASSY HAVE TO WORK ON IT EXPEDITE.SEND THEM AN EMAIL,CAUS SOMETIMES THEY GET CONFUSED BETWEEN K3 VISA,AND CR1.LOOK AT MY TIMELINE.THATS FOR INDIA,AND I AM SO SURE THAT GOES FOR ALL OTHER EMBASSY,CONTACT HAFIZ HE IS FROM THE SAME COUNTRY HE MIGHT BE ABLE TO GIVE U SOME INFO.GOODLUCK.

9/06/2006 = SHE ARRIVES HERE.ATLANTA GEORGIA.

YES!. in other words the fee has been paid for CR1. for this reason they are telling you to wait

2-3 months. the CR1 is comming they know it. soon as the Cr1 reaches the embassy they

will cancell the k-3. :yes:

once you paid the fees- that killed the chances of k-3.

thats why the embassy is telling you 2-3 months it dont take that long to get the packet 3.
