As any of you know that read my earlier post I am about to send off my I-129F package. I keep reading peoples timelines and notice that people that didnt meet through a marriage broker get RFE's about IMBRAS. Can someone explain to me what causes this? I did not meet my Fiancee through one of these and I said no on the form. Why would someone get an RFE for IMBRA that did not use one? Thanks as always.

It all depends on when you filed and what form you used. Those filing after March 6 are all subject to IMBRA. The USCIS did not get the new form out until June or July, not sure exactly when. If you filed after March 6 and used the old form you will get an IMBRA RFE asking for more information. If you filed with the new form that has those questions on it then you shouldn't get a RFE.

Ok thank you for the clarification. I just did my filled out my form last week and am sending it off tomorrow. I know it asks if we met through a broker and of course I said no. Shouldnt be an issue I guess. Thank you for the reply.

You shouldn't, but you might. Some people have been sent IMBRA RFE's even if they've used the updated form. Such RFEs were sent out by mistake. I'd expect that the service centers have figured it all out by now, but one never knows...

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.
