That's better than people that answer them incorrectly, which I've been guilty of on more than one occassion. I just get so excited to help people that I have to get put in place by the veterans!

i don't answer questions...not bc of any timeline issues but bc I don't know any answers :(

You do just fine Cass  everyone does. If a reply is corrected somewhat, thats how we all learn.

I concur  and I personally will answer questions regardless of whether one has a timeline or not. It is every members perogitive as to how much information they do wish to give out. It does however make some questions difficult to answer unless one knows certain information. Hence why often only very general replies should be given. Up to the OP then if they wish to give further information for a more precise reply from others.

I do recall in the past where questions had been directly asked at interview that related to information that was supposedly gathered from posts that had been made on VJ. USCIS employees and/or former employees do peruse these types of boards or have openly been members. My hubby as many of you know is a retired DHS agent and he almost had a coronary about my filling in our timeline and discussing anything too personal or that could be tracked back. If someone wants to be paranoid, so be it. To not answer someones questions because they dont have a timeline, is downright ridiculous.

and that above aussie is exactly why nessa and i don't put any personal info out here :thumbs:

Yeah, you'd think if ANYTHING the people reading the posts would think "Wow, they are really serious about this. And absolutely misreable, lets send them through quickly."

And well, I don't see any of that one happening.

:star: Cass (bebop the great)

truth is, I don't care if someone fills it in or not. I get my hackles up with the "black mark" theories that go around though. Can't do this because what if they punish us? Whatevah. I have never called USCIS names on this site that I can recall, I have even defended them as fellow government workers on some occasions.. I'm still not approved! So whoever is reading everyone's posts and doing timeline searches and punishing everyone for being naughty, how come they aren't giving me an NOA2 for being "nice"?

Actually, I remember back in May this year wondering if they hadn't done exactly that in my case. On May 1st I created a topic regarding my frustration regarding some difficulties I was dealing with and how much less difficult they would be if only Steve were here to help me through them. At this point we didn't even have an interview date yet, and in April they informed me he wouldn't be scheduled until late June or July.

*Bashing head against the wall*

On May 12th I absolutely could not believe it, not only had he finally gotten an interview date, he was scheduled for June 1st!

AND....Montreal comes through again, OMG I can barely contain myself!!!

I have to admit, I couldn't help but wonder if they hadn't been reading about what I had been dealing with and acted out of compassion.

So can I ask why the #### did you bother to join if you would rather get your information from a lawyer????

Good luck

Kezzie

This is why in my first post I asked it there was a requirement to post a timeline before posting a question. If it was a requirement I would not have joined the forum thank you.

Kezzie, I have noticed from your posts that you hate lawyers which is fine but I was posting about the timeline police. You hate lawyers I hate timeline police :)

And we all hate you and we're out to get you!

I dont hate lawyers and I could not care if you have filled in your timeline or not... makes no diffrence to me if you do or if you dont....

I do object to you implying that all VJ is good for is asking about filling in a form..... and if you needed any other info you would consult a lawyer....

There are some very good lawyers out there and there are some really bad ones just as in all walks of life... I have 3 lawyers in my family and they are all good at there jobs but they would not dream of coming on to a forum as a user and then start spouting the law at others... as some have done on here...

But hey your timeline is yours if you dont want others to know then no problem...

Kezzie

The timeline doesn't work for me anyway so don't bother. You can only add K1 or K3 or the C visas, but people who arrived with H1B, J1 or B visas can't even add that!!! I wanted to add my timeline and only edit the AOS stuff, but that doesn't work out!!!

So my timeline to give others a hint is in my signature....

Lg Anna

Btw I have no idea how to edit it once it is settled. I just can't. And it claims I was from Armenia for some weird reason... Never been there...

The problem I have besides listening to self appointed timeline police which I absolutly will not do... Is that in my opinion there is far to much personal information on individuals available on the internet anyway and I will not do anything to add to that.

People forget that USCIS is a law enforcemant agency, their purpose is to enforce immigration law, not to beningly process visa applications. Law enforcement loves data bases of their "clients." The timelines could be used by them a way to identify individuals.

Maybe I'm a little paranoid but I believe in my right of privacy and I wont put any information out there that might compromise my privacy.

When people ask simple questions like should they use N/A or none in filling out forms, for example, a timeline is absoultly no help in answering those types of questions...

If a question needs a bunch of personal information to be answered I'll find an immigration lawyer or someone I can trust to answer it for me on a non public forum.

If there was an option to simply add information to the timeline data annomously I would do that but I wont do it the way it is now...

I stopped reading at this post. You have to be the most paranoid person I have ever met in my life. Do you actually leave your house? Is your car registered in your name, or did you have someone else do it? Does your employer have your SS number, or someone elses'?

Damn.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
