Frances,

 It's good for all of to look back onto better times. Maybe give us some hope for the trend coming back around?

:star: Cass (bebop the great)

Also, I'll add that MY timeline won't help anyone going through the process now. Not only do things change all the time, it's hard to say how long a CR1 application filed in Nebraska will take these days....

but feel free to look at it...:lol::lol:

I dont get it.

I've carefully read the terms of service and I dont see where posting a timeline is a requirement for asking a question on these forums.

I can't see anywhere where these people were given the job of policing others timelines. Is there a job description I'm missing?

Or is it a way to increase their post count?

Personally having some self appointed timeline cop telling me to fill in my timeline assures it wont ever be done....

BTW.... No I have not filled in my timeline :)

You do not have to fill in your timeline :). Doing so only helps the community and you as a whole by providing useful stats and other information that can help you gauge the process of your applications as they relate to the USCIS processing times currently. Please feel free to make your own choice and not feel pressured. :)

I am an Ewok. I am here to to keep the peace. Please contact me if you have a problem with the site or a complaint regarding a violation of the Terms of Service. For the fastest response please use the 'Contact Us' page to contact me.

On a practical level I'm not concerned about the government finding out anything about me they dont all ready know. Some people get the privacy argument some people dont. Its like some people walk in the rain some people use an umbrella.

But... say I happened to be one of the folks who has raised a big stink about IMBRA or something else, say someone at a service center got repremanded for a delay or a response to my call. What if that person was to come to VJ. ...from the timelines they could determine my identity, and in the forums they could probably read about what I had done to get that smuck...then say my file gets lost...hmmmm

Yep I paranoid :)

If that were the case they would already have all the information they needed to take revenge if so inclined. I'm sure their customer service calls are recorded and monitored. They wouldn't need to look here to find it, it's already firmly in their hands. So it's not really a valid point.

truth is, I don't care if someone fills it in or not. I get my hackles up with the "black mark" theories that go around though. Can't do this because what if they punish us? Whatevah. I have never called USCIS names on this site that I can recall, I have even defended them as fellow government workers on some occasions.. I'm still not approved! So whoever is reading everyone's posts and doing timeline searches and punishing everyone for being naughty, how come they aren't giving me an NOA2 for being "nice"?

Yeah, you'd think if ANYTHING the people reading the posts would think "Wow, they are really serious about this. And absolutely misreable, lets send them through quickly."

And well, I don't see any of that one happening.

 And I just can't understand why, even if we don't agree with someone else's choice to post personal info or not, be it timelines or photos for that matter, can't we just all respect that decision and not jump all down their throats.

In my mind, NOTHING is IMpossible... the Brit government is putting electronic monitoring devices in dustbins...why is it so hard to fathom that our lovely government can't stoop to equally low and rediculous measures? I mean, this site DID have a few members who by all accounts were actual adjudicators. Scoff, as I'm sure many will...and that person never seemed to do anything but answer questions and help folks a lot, but you never know. I don't. Some people have seemingly irrational paranoias about other things, and that may be YOUR irrational paranoia, and I'm sure you don't want or need harrassment over it...SHEESH people, if the fact that someone doesn't have a timeline bothers you so freakin much, just don't answer their questions...it really IS that simple.

I concur  and I personally will answer questions regardless of whether one has a timeline or not. It is every members perogitive as to how much information they do wish to give out. It does however make some questions difficult to answer unless one knows certain information. Hence why often only very general replies should be given. Up to the OP then if they wish to give further information for a more precise reply from others.

I do recall in the past where questions had been directly asked at interview that related to information that was supposedly gathered from posts that had been made on VJ. USCIS employees and/or former employees do peruse these types of boards or have openly been members. My hubby as many of you know is a retired DHS agent and he almost had a coronary about my filling in our timeline and discussing anything too personal or that could be tracked back. If someone wants to be paranoid, so be it. To not answer someones questions because they dont have a timeline, is downright ridiculous.

I completely agree, I'll try to answer any questions with the best of my (limited) knowledge. Regardless of if they have a timeline or not. But, I do encourage it because it helps the whole of this site, and therefore will help everyone else going through this process down the road. Every little bit counts.
