Hey Fassir, you can post a topic in this forum or you can message me, I'd be glad to help. Check these forms on uscis.gov I-130, I-485, I-864, I-693, am not sure if you need I-765 being that you're a student. Those were the forms that I used.

Good luck on your journey, people will be able to help you here just ask.:)

It was indeed!!! We just didn't expect it, having read reviews about officers that were harsh, we were amazed this officer was so different and truly happy that she was.

Hi Everyone!!

This morning at 7:30 was our scheduled interview. We left our house around 6:10 and arrived in the USCIS bldg. at just a couple minutes to 7. The security was a breeze and there were quite a lot of people in the waiting room already. We were seated at around 7:10 and waited around 30-35 minutes before we were called.

Our interviewer was unbelievably pleasant [we readied ourselves for an interviewer that may be harsh and devoid of emotions] and engaging, she was smiling all the time and sometimes would apologize for being blunt. She made us take an oath and said that she wasn't going to ask us about our married life as we have submitted sufficient evidence, the wedding, the photos etc.. She wants to talk about my daughter. This caught us a little off guard because my husband didn't know much about my daughter in terms of interaction, being that she's in the Philippines lives with her father and just 9 years old. He saw her only on photos but have not really spoken to her. Anyway, he asked my husband[uSC], does he know if I have a daughter?, how many? several or 1? What does he know about my daughter? She seemed not satisfied with my husband's answer and pressed for more. She then tells him that he is petitioning her and my husband said yes and went into a bit of detail what our plans are once I get my greencard and she gets hers. She seemed satisfied with his answer. After this, she told me that I was in a difficult situation being that my daughter is away. She asked me how committed I am to my husband, am I sure I won't leave my husband when I get my greencard and my daughter, that I may just be using my husband now to get a greencard to bring my daughter and her father to which I answered, absolutely not. AT this point I felt like I had to tell her the reason why I separated from my ex-husband briefly and after telling her and this satisfied her.She asked us where we met and to confirm our home address, then she asked me the I-485 questions to which I all answered no, and she asked for my passport and told me she will make sure that my daughter and I will see each other soon. This touched me so much, it made me teary-eyed. She explained to us that I can travel internationally with the stamped on my passport as it's good as a greencard, the greencard itself will arrive in a month and the process of removing conditions and asked us to wait in the waiting room for another 15 minutes while she get my passport stamped. We were extremely happy. When she handed me my passport, she hugged me, told me to give my daughetr a hug for her when I see her and shook my husband's hand and said we're a beautiful couple. :)

Overall, the interview wasn't structured, it was kind of a friendly conversation with the necessary questions thrown into it. She is of Irish ancestry and my husband is originally from Dublin, they exchanged notes on that and she's planning to go to Dublin. We talked about business and stocks and the company that my husband is working for because she bought their stocks. She mentioned some immigration stories about husbands reteruning their wives and vice versa, to which we all just laughed. ALthough, we were caught off-guard we still did not panic and we answered truthfully to her questions. We brought in a small roller bag to put in our documents and photos, none were touched. She just took my passport & I-94.

You cannot really prepare for the interview, all you can prepare for are documents substantiating your marriage and life together. If you have a legit marriage and you really know each other, you 'll encounter bumps but it will be easy to overcome it.No matter what happens be honest, they will see through you whether or not you're telling the truth or not.

I'm sorry for the lengthy and discombobulated post. I am still overwhelmed and very happy and we have a flight to catch at 4pm.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH VJ COMMUNITY!!! WE DID IT!!! On to 2012 for ROC, at least we will have a good amount of breathing space before that starts!!

Congratulations what a wonderful story, I so needed to hear that today too. We just got 2nd RFE and they lost my medical records and are telling me to have another one and get Syphilis and Tuberculin test done and I had all this done in Australia , they got my 693 but say they don't have my vaccination 3025. So am not too happy with them at the moment but I got it all sorted rang the doc in Australia and they sent me copy of medical, and found results of my Terb xray and blood test, so have sent all that off this morning express post. Hope that satisfies them.

But well done to you both its great to hear.

Hi Barbara,

If there's anything that this process taught me it's lots and lots of patience especially dealing with the National Customer Service. Glad you sorted it out. Best of Luck!!!
