Online update after fingerprint

Hello All,

Does your petition get updated online after you take fingerprints?

I think only the updated date changes, but the state remains initial review. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also, how soon does it happen? For example, does it happen same day as fingerprint appt, next day or 3-4 weeks after when they get the results.

How could you find out if you had a successful fingerprint because I think online status wouldn't confirm that?

Thanks

yeye

We saw a date change a day or so after my wife's bio appointment.

Then again it has been posted by others that sometimes nothing happens with the online status system, until the I-751 is approved.

YuAndDuan, thanks for answering some of my questions.

Can somebody answer the following?

1) How could you find out if you had a successful fingerprint because I think online status wouldn't confirm that? Does customer service rep. answer that question by calling USCIS?

2) How long does it take for fingerprints to reach USCIS?

3) If you have bad fingerprints, how soon usually do they send 2nd fingerprint notice? If somebody had this experience, they could shed some light on it.

Thanks.

1) USCIS will simply send you a letter asking you to do them again.

2) They are electronically transmitted from ACS to USCIS, it is instant.

3) Yes they request you to return to have retaken. The electronic scanners used are quite reliable, and the tech at the ASC knows if they are good or bad on the spot.
