ROC approved but still waiting for GC

My ROC was approved on Jan 10, 2011 (almost 5 months after my NOA1). Since then, I've been waiting for my card to come in the mail and yet I still haven't received it. I got my approval via an actual letter in the mail, never got any email updates either for approval or card production, and my online status on USCIS website still says "initial review". The approval letter I got suggested to allow 60 days for the card to be mailed to my address. But honestly, I still haven't seen anybody that shared their timeline here had to wait this long to get their card in the mail, I see people usually got their cards within a week or two after approval. So, it has got me very worried.

Feb 10, 2011 is going to be 1 month since I received my approval letter and Feb 18, 2011 is going to be my 6 months anniversary since the day I originally filed for I-751.

Should I wait 60 days before I contact them or should I just make infopass right when I hit my 6 months processing time frame if I still haven't received my card? I'm not really sure if the 6 months processing time frame means you suppose to get your card by then or what.

Has anybody in the same situation here?

Thans Jkelly07. I'm gonna give USCIS a call soon, Hopefully my green card did not get lost somewhere.

Any other advise from other VJ fellows?

I'd wait the 60 days and then get into the action - calling, infopass, whatever gets your card.

Worst case scenario: if not received by 9th month since applying for ROC, I say go ahead and file for Naturalization - don't even bother with I-90.

I recently got approved and received my 10yr green card mid-January this year. I filed 1st wk of October, had my biometrics on 11/1/10. So the timeline from start of filing was 3 months total. I also filed at California Service Center and never had problems.

You should make a follow-up call. If they issue a letter stating that your application was approved, then you should receive your card any time. But 1 month of waiting just to receive the card seems too long.

I think there are 2 separate departments that takes care of sending out communications and production of green card. In my case, I received my card 2 week before I actually received the approval notice. It was funny in a way.

So maybe they messed up somewhere so you need to call them and find out.

Good luck!

1. recheck your letter - it should have a paragraph in it that extends the validity date of your initial green card by one year. Keep a copy of this letter with a copy of yer initial green card, IN YER PURSE.

2. when you call INTO USCIS again, get an ISO, and REVIEW the address listed for you. If it matches - great - but ask the ISO to check if any postal mail was returned to them. IF something was returned (and the addresses are a match) ask the ISO to PUT IN A RESEND request.

3. If the addresses do not match, the ISO will tell you.

ISOs are important, don't waste time with a CSR - see http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1221837986181.shtm#5 for a very detailed explanation.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I called USCIS today, the customer service guy who first assisted me didn't even realize my case was approved since the online status still says pending. So they transferred me to a higher level representative (that's what they called, I believe it's the ISO that Darnell was referring to). The higher level guy said my application was approved since Jan 10th but there was no card production yet. He said it usually take from 2 to 4 weeks for the card to be mailed to my address. They let me verify my address and told me it was the correct one that's on file.

Since it's been almost 30 days, he said was gonna put in a service request for me to let the service center know that they should produce my card asap. He gave me the service request referral number and said I should call back again if I didn't get my card within the next 30 days.

Many thanks to everybody for contributing, I hope this service request would do the trick. I'll keep you guys posted!!
