Aeroflot also has a great deal on RT to and from Moscow (or the other way around). Their fare, if you are flexible, is around $679 after fees. This is probably not news to anyone who travels to Russia frequently, like me, as flying there during the "offseason" and purchasing flights before mid-March is always quite cheap.

Those are probably the rock bottom prices, just so the airline can cover it's costs. After that last bombing I imagine travel to DME dropped off the charts. I was traveling to Boston in 2001 and had originally planned to go in September to see my daughter and the fall colors. She called me in August and asked if I would come out for Thanksgiving instead. We are all glad I changed my plans, but even with my schedule changed to Thanksgiving time, the prices dropped so much that it was almost free. I got a credit from the airline for most of the cost of my flight but the real problem was the loss of the number of flights.

So, I'm not too surprised about the prices, but then flying in the winter is always cheaper.
