Dont worry we reached our 6 months yesterday as well and still no word from USCIS. Even though we didnt use an attorney its all the same thing.. They just tell us to keep waiting which makes me very frustrated :bonk:

Me too.....I have contacted senators multiple times, USCIS multiple times, service request, etc....but I am still just a cow in the herd...with no approval :ranting:

I'm getting close to ditching this petition and just move to Peru.

LOL this thread has made me a little scared for my own timeline and I guess about 4+ more more months that I'll have to wait. eeek! But your "cow in a heard" just made me crack up.. so at least I haven't lost my sense of humor.

P.S. I'm super glad I didn't get a lawyer, I'll consider my wedding dress my lawyer since they're about the same price.

I completely understand your frustration, but to be a bit fair to your lawyer, I don't think his intentions were to lie to you. I'm using a lawyer as well (she is a close family friend so I'm not paying her and she has my best intentions at heart) and she also told me that the K1 should not take more than 6 months. I think there has been a drastic difference in processing times within a very short period of time. Of course the lawyer wanted your case and money, but I don't think they are genuinely trying to hustle you. Even if they had told you it would take more time, would you not go through with the process? Look at the bright side, you are very very close to getting the NOA 2. I'm sorry for your case and I really hope you get the NOA 2 in the mail ASAP!

Thank-you. I will try and look at it from a different angle. It's just hard, you know? :'(

Lawyers are liars! It's business, money, just like sales and politicians, promising more than can actually offer just to get the job/sales. Your's is a close friend, so, you're more than just another client.

Hi just wanted to say that the wait isn't easy usually the worst part of this process and it just seems like it's gotten a bit crazier at the services centers, but just keep up with your case you have every right to know the details and be in the loop, your lawyer should tell you everything also, demand it you are paying him/her. You'll get through this soon and can put all this behind you. Best of luck

I understand the frustration you are feeling. :crying: It takes everything I have on the inside of me to keep from getting discouraged. I've passed my 5 month mark and I've not received my NOA2 yet. This whole process takes too long and it is overwhelming at times. I will be so glad when this distance is a thing of the past because I am so tired. I've tried calling to check on my petition but I only get an automated system. Does anyone know the number I can call for the VSC where I can talk to a live person? I pray for us all that are awaiting to reunite with our loved ones. Its hard but we must be strong for one another. Keep the faith, God's gonna work it out for us all.

He was dishonest about the K-1 process as a whole. He did not tell us that there could be a possibility of us not getting the ACTUAL visa in under a year. He did NOT tell us that we were JUST filing a petition and that we were NO WHERE NEAR getting married and AOS. After he received the first payment was when we found out that the 90-120 day wait period to get our "K-1" visa now had a wait time of 5 months "give or take". Where was this possibility before? He failed to disclose vital information about both the K-1 and K-3. I honestly felt that he pushed the K-1 route because he knew he could make more money off of us. We also did not know about NVC, or that there are also wait times at the consulates where the interview is held. Whether the interview wait time is 1 day or 6 months is irrelevant, we just wanted to know what to expect....

We were very misinformed... :(

-End Rant.

I am not trying to be mean or anything but you should have done your homework in regards to which visa process would fit your needs. You cannot believe or trust lawyers they just tell you whant you want to hear as for calling USCIS that person you spoke to is getting you the run around. When my brother filed for his wife he had a lawyer and when the lawyer was bs him around I was was able to call and get info about the case.

No, I don't think you are being mean at all. But the internet can be just as bad as a lawyer (no offense). I have heard so many different stories etc and it is hard to pick the truth from the #######. Two, the ACTUAL immigration sites (i.e USCIS) have very generic information and doesn't answer all of the questions that one might have. So although a website like Visa Journey might have a lot of honest people with accurate information to filling out paperwork, they may or may not have answers to the more complicated questions (like how custody relates to immigration). At least with paying a lawyer, if he screws my paperwork up, I get my money back and I can ask for someone higher up to assist (i.e a judge or congressmen/women). If I get the wrong information from here, sending a nasty email won't suffice.. :/

It was almost 6 months from our NOA1 to NOA 2. It does get discouraging but patience is key.

Good Luck. I hope you hear something soon. The process , although still slow , seems to move a little faster after the long 6 or so month wait.

This site is fantastic with great info to help you through the process. Keep checking in . :D
