Hi everyone,

Just want to know a few things about the AOS Interview.

We have ours on March 3rd and need to know what to expect, and how long it takes. We have ours at 7.15am(!!!) so I am hoping to be able to get back to work and not have to take the day off.

They sent a checklist of things to bring, but any tips would be apprectiated.

Thanks :-)

Also check the "filing & progress reports" for reviews.

Good luck!

if there is no doubt of the sincerity of your marriage, then you can be in and out in no time, be done with everything before/by 8 a.m.

From my own experience I can tell you that you'll swear the oath, then they basically will ask the beneficiary the yes/no questions from I-485 aka affiliations with clubs/organizations, convictions, espionage etc., ask for both of your IDs, passports, EAD and AP, birth certificate of foreign spouse and proof of citizenship of USC. The asked me for address and both my and my spouses phonenumber, if having any children, name of my ex-wife.

She asked my spouse the USC where we met, what we do, if she has any children from someone else and where the wedding was and who came, especially in reference to both of our parents presence.

In the meantime I got all the supporting documents ready as the IO had asked me. Showed her most current printout of our joint account statement and deposits showing our names, print out from me being on her health insurance, joint lease, one airline reservation from our frequent trips to Socal to see my wife's family. For a brief moment she wanted to see the wedding album/guest book but not the other one we brought and took a few copies of some pages showing the wedding crowd, the actual ceremony and a family photo. She asked my wife to point out our parents which the IO noted on her copy.

I didn't come through a K-visa so don't take my word for it but I am most certain you need to bring this one along as well.

As expected from the SF office we then received the note that there will be more review the application. Got educated that an approved application will lead to get the green card in 2 - 4 weeks and how to remove the conditions 2 years later and the right to make an infopass appointment if we don't hear anything after 30 days.

But to our surprise later on in the afternoon I received a status update e-mail that my I-485 application got in status "card production".

Sooooo - as you will read in many places, it can be different from interview to interview, some IOs are taking 5 minutes just to see originals from the copies submitted with the application, some want to see loads of pictures and some don't, some are grilling you on tiny little details....

...hope I got you my inside look on what I just recently experienced.

Good luck to the both of you on the big day :)
