Dear VJ friends. I am new to VJ and just about to send our K-1 Petition to the Dallas Lockbox. I will be requesting a K-2 Visa for the 15 year old minor son of my fiancée. Can someone tell me if I need to add any additional amount to the base fee when I send in the initial Petition package? The minor son is listed on the Form I-129F.

Thank you! We're excited now to begin the journey! David

Nope. No additional fees yet. The only thing you have to do at this point is list the child on the I-129F.

Bear in mind that you're only petitioning for your fiancee. If the petition is approved then her son will automatically be eligible to apply for a visa. His eligibility is derived from hers.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

Thank you very much! Is it advisable to mention the request for the K-2 in the Cover Letter for the I-129F or is the fact that the minor son is listed in the I-129F automatically trigger the K-2 process? Regards, David

Does anyone know if the K2 for a child costs the same or less than the K1 visa? I'm going through the London office. Thanks!

A "K" visa whether a 1/2/3/4 is all the same price worldwide

YMMV

So is that the $350 'interview/visa fee' and would it just be double than for a K1 and a K2?

$350 * # of applicants

YMMV
