Appriciate if anyone can share their experience of getting a visitor visa or provide any advice.

My partner is LPR of USA and has filed a greecard petition for me. The I130 is approved and we are waiting for the priority date to become current. Our priority date is May 2010.

We live in UK. My partner is currently on an expat assignment and has a re-entry permit. He need to go to US for a business trip and Iam hoping to go along with him. For this, I am planning to apply for a visitor visa in UK. I am not working at the moment and don't have any properties on my name.

Do I have any chance of getting a visitor visa? if my visa is denied, will it have any negative effect on my petition when I go for an immigrant visa in future?

A denial will not impact your immigrant visa

I take it Iceland is not on the Visa Waiver Program?

If you apply for a visitors visa, and being married to an LPR with a pending immigrant visa, I suspect you'll need strong ties to the UK or Iceland. What can you show to the US consulate that you MUST return and not simply stay in the US?

Good luck

sorry, corrected country. Not Iceland, Indonesia. wrong selection in profile.

I don't have any strong ties to UK except that my partner works here in UK and will be here for next couple of years and I would not be in US of my partner is going to work here. I guess that's the only reason I can give to consulate. I know the chances are pretty slim and want to try anyway if I have nothing to loose.
