What service center do I go by?

Ok, if you sign up for Visa Journey it says to put the original service center that you filed with, even if it has been transfered to a different service center. This seems kind of funny because mine got transfered to the vermont service center from the Texas service center that I originaly filed with. Now when I look up the progress of the service center Im listed on the Texas service center but its being handled from the Vermont center. Does this mean that not every one on the Texas listing should not be there? Are they really supposed to be on the Vermont listing?

Some people believe that since they sent their petitions to Texas, that Texas is the service center that will be adjudicating their petition. However, California and Vermont are the only service centers that approve K1 petitions.

Hi, When you first file your I-129F you mail it to the Dallas, Texas Lockbox address, They then send it to the service center for your state. I thought you would like to see this it shows the service center areas...

If you live in: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. Your petition will be sent to the California Service Center

If you live in: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, U.S. Virgin Islands, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. Your petition will be sent to the Vermont Service Center

Not always, I live in Georgia and my petition was sent to California Service Center, I think they try to balance out the work load for the centers, so your petition could possibly go to either one!

My center was supposed to be Vermont but I found mine in California. They reroute petitions based on the workload of each center.

Texas service center just reroutes your petition to the service center that can take a little more at that time. Since your case is being processed by Vermont, you should fill in Vermont

The lock-box address I-129F petitions are sent to is 50 miles from the "Texas Service Center". Please don't confuse the two. USCIS has MANY offices in Texas, with at least three in the DFW area. Only ONE of those offices is a "service center" and they DO NOT have anything to do with any I-129F petitions.
