You wouldn't be the first nor only person to exceed 5 months exactly at USCIS. I was approved in 5 months 2 weeks, and another forum member just got her NOA2 after waiting 7 months.. there are some November filers who are /still/ waiting. There's nothing you can do at the moment to hurry up the process, so put your jitters to good use and make sure you're prepared for the NVC stage.

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.

138 days from NOA1 - NOA2

14 days from CIS till NVC case number assigned.

ah - i had math problems earlier.

5 months from jan 30 (your NOA-1 date) is 30 June - but what's 150 days look like ? -> 6/29/2011

My apologies for seeming snarky earlier - last month - USCIS was pegging casefiles at 5 months processing time as a guideline.

But hey - this topic has some legs to it - hopefully by now you've read Loto's EZGUIDE to Spousal Visa Processing. (hint - the link is in post 4)

ok, so around june 17th i get a RFE stating that uscis needs more information about our marriage to prove its a bonafide marriage. the wedding certificate was not sufficient i believe....so i ended up sending the pictures of the wedding, my travel stamps on the passport to india, then my email conversations to my wife, as well as a purchase of textbooks i sent to here in india....has anyone had this sort of experience??

hey guys, sorry if this seems a little off topic but as for the fees associated with the I-130 process, i was reading some of the post for the colombian embassy etc and they were saying they paid 404.00 there. so unless im mistaken if we pay the 404.00 to the NVC we dont need to pay again at the embassy?? or do we have to pay it twice? reason i am asking is because i am putting in two applications. one for my wife and another for my stepson who is 14. which is 820.00 so far. not to mention the AOP and NVC fees, plus doctors etc. i would like it if someone could clarify this for me, thanks

Ah - so your casefile was reviewed by a human prior to June 17th - cool !

They wanted to adjudicate it, make some decision, but could not - you had scant documentary evidence on the bonafides of your marriage.

IN THE RFE, was a list of what they wanted - I'm sure you've generated all of this, sent it in. Usually about 2 to 4 weeks after you sent it in, it is reviewed again, a decision is made.

Cool ! Yer getting closer !!

Embassy webpage usually covers direct consular filing process, since yer not filing via DCF all fees are paid during NVC processing, to NVC. There will not be visa fees at the Embassy for your casefiles, but you prolly want $$ for medical and visa packet shipping.

Good Luck !

Hi,

My spouse is trying to obtain Police Clearance Certificate from Kerala, India. Does she goes to the passport office or the local police station to get one. Some folks in kerala told her that PCC is given by the passport office. I don't know. Please let me know the right way to obtain PCC, thanks
