RFE For Financial Info

Hello VJ'ers. I hope someone can answer this question. I just learned via AVR that the NVC is requesting additional financial information and has generated and mailed a checklist. I guess this is an RFE.

My first question is: Do they send RFEs via email?

I ask that because I have moved to the Philippines to be with my wife and family while waiting for the immigration process. The NVC failed to recognize our requested 'Agent of Choice' so I (the petitioner) am still acting agent. This means any correspondence with the NVC continues to come to me. The problem is that since I temporarily moved to the Philippines, I updated my mailing address (as required) with the NVC. So if they are sending me the RFE through postal mail, I fear it will take a least a month to receive...hence, my desire to receive the RFE via email.

My second question is: If the NVC does not send RFEs via email, is it possible to find out what was missing from the original documents by calling and talking to an operator? Do they give that information out by phone?

Thanks for any information anyone can give me.

RFE is sent by snail mail.

The phone operators do not know what the RFE is and do not have access to see what the RFE is.

I got a false RFE from NVC for my IV packet--they sent it via email. I also was able to call and talk to an operator, who told me what was missing (although in my case it wasn't something specific, but rather a whole packet).

Good luck!

NVC frequently sends out a false RFE after they review the AOS. It's for the DS-230 package. I would call up an operator and ask. I've heard of many people doing this and then they find out it's just for the DS-230 and not an actual RFE, similar to what happened to Kikapoo above.

I got RFE by email not snail mail. Have you registered your email address(es) with NVC? If you have you should have gotten instant notification by email. Call NVC, speak to an operator and ask that all correspondence be sent to you by email. But if you are just resitering your email with them, the earlier RFE would have gone out through snail mail, so this will just work for any future correspondence.

Just the way I described in my earlier post. Call NVC, make sure you speak with an operator, give them your email and they will link it with your application.

Oh, ok. I thought maybe there was a way to do it online. Thanks.
