Just wanted a bit of good luck and any advice that anyone may have. I was going to go visit my fiance in England but I was told by my employer that if I took the time off I would not have a job when I returned. Obviously, that was not an option. Colin and I decided to take the risk and have him travel here to visit me for a few weeks. He will be arriving next Friday and hopefully they will let him through. He will be bringing our K-1 application, the NAO1, a letter from his employer stating when he is due back at work and a letter from his mother stating that he is expected home because he is going to be in his sister's wedding.

I've heard the horror stories and I've heard the good stories. We've decided to take the risk since we haven't seen eachother in 5 months. If all else fails, at least we'll be in the same country for 24 hours before he gets shipped back.

Does anyone have any other advice for us? Thanks so much.

Lori

Lori, i wish you good luck and i hope it all goes well on the entry. Me and my fiance have been wondering about that part too ... he had no problems when he visited me, but we also got very scared of how it may turn out if i went to visit him after we read the horrible experiences some people had. But also know this, it doesnt mean your fiance will have problems. Every case is different :) So, head up and put on a smile ... im sure everything will go just fine

Good luck and keep us posted on how it went :star:

Don't fear! Those are good letters you've got ready! Have him bring his itinerary showing his return date too, and possibly his return flight tickets (if you're not printing your own boarding passes).

I've been to the States more than 5 times since applying (nearly every 6 weeks) and haven't gotten any questions when I've been prepared with the above paperwork.

Enjoy your time together!

Thanks so much for all your positive responses. We are prepared with everything and are looking forward to some time together. The stress of the K-1 and being apart is so trying at times. We really need this time together to enjoy being an engaged couple.

; He has all the right proof to show them he has strong ties with his home country :thumbs::thumbs:

showing his documents, telling the TRUTH and he will be sooooo fine :innocent: Don't worry about it  & enjoy your time together.

Though, my entrance was denied once -last May- and I had to go back to my country. Now that I have strong ties (same documents as your fiance, and copy of our I-129f package, NOA1) I have no problem traveling to the US. I've been there couple of times after my denial, and I'll be going back to the US next month (I go every two months). All they say is "you again?" :innocent: I show them my stuff, and they told me last time: "I hope you'll get married soon, cuz looking at all your stuff is a big hell of a job"

My fiance has been back twice and never had an issue. He brought his itinerary and some work stuff and they didn't even ask to see it! They just said "you're not getting married this time, right?" and he said "Nope" and was on his way! This was at Seatac though, which is a really easy POE, I've heard.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Colin arrived Friday without any incident. He made it through customs just fine. A few extra questions but nothing out of the ordinary. Now I get to enjoy three weeks with him. <3

If questioned, always say the truth, stay polite and don't get upset with customs officers. Worst case scenario he could be denied entry and he will get to withdraw his application for entry. This will not hurt the visa application.

Best of luck and enjoy your trip :)
