Ok..I just need to vent and any advice would be great. NVC completed our file last week, Jan 24th! Said it was going to be sent to Montreal in a few days. Told by NVC this past week that we should hear something by this friday (today) and if not, to call DOS. Since we have an Expedite request approved..so we've been told..I figured we'd hear real quick. Montreal is supposed to contact us directly. Anyways..we haven't heard anything, DOS says that Montreal hasn't even entered our CASE into the system yet???

So, is Montreal starting to backlog again? Anybody have some recent experience here in the last few days of getting an interview scheduled? I looked at some other members who were approved in early January and had their interviews scheduled within a 6 to 8 week period.

I know I'm being pushy..but I have reason to be, some of you know my situation. I figured I'd at least hear something by now, after nearly being close to two weeks of being done at NVC.

If anyone has been recently approved or gotten their interview letter, I'd love to hear from you.

Yes, I already emailed the IV unit supervisor in Montreal..last week and once again this morning.

thanks for all your replies and information.

hm... could it be that it got stuck in that big storm? We had people mail us stuff on the 24th from Canada to the states and we have not seen any of the mail arrive. (no tracking number sadly..) but we think it got stuck somewhere because of the huge storm thats going on through Chicago etc.

We had our NVC expedited..and they tell us the expedite was granted for Montreal..so that's why I'm sorta clueless. Give them a few more days I guess. I just want to know my interview date..it's killing me.

The part that does worry me is what if they didn't get the packet cuz of the ####### weather ya know, lol. Guess I'll just have to wait till Tuesday or Wednesday and see what happens. I know one girl had her's expedited..and Montreal contacted her for an interview for about 3 weeks after her NVC completion. So I'm thinking if all gets done ok, expedite..we're looking at interview in 3 or 4 weeks. If our expedite at consular level isn't done, then I'm guessing an april interview.

I know that NVC was closed a few days because of the storm and I *think* I read somewhere that the consulate scaled back their staff some of those days due to the bad weather. I know that in my case, our expedite was approved by Montreal and we were contacted within 48 hours from them via email with the interview date.

Montreal is an abysmal hole, emails rarely get answered, mail is stuck in their mail room for weeks on end. It's very sad for those waiting.

Good luck with everything.

Hi Canadian Redneck,

Sounds like we're in the same boat. Our case was complete Jan 20 (confirmed by NVC agent) but we've yet to receive an offical email letting us know of our case complete status or our interview date. WE spoke with a NVC agent last Friday who confirmed our case was complete but asked us to be patient because the weather had affected staff numbers and they were trying to catch up on workload. He asked us to call again this Friday if we didn't receive an email this week BUT he did say...typical wait times from case complete to interview since Christmas has been two months and that our interviews would likely be in mid-March.

I got a call Tuesday Feb 8 ,in the morning from the Montreal Consulate..they had just received our file upstairs..well I figure upstairs, where ever. They said the expedite was granted and that I needed to get my medical ASAP. So I got my medical taken care of Wednesday morning in Toronto and we're going to pick up my Medical folder on the way up to Montreal this coming monday. Sophia who called was very nice and patient with me as I was friggin shocked and stumbled over my words on the phone. Interview date set for Wednesday Feb 16 at 9 am! Super quick..almost too quick. But I believe we'll be ready. She told me that we just needed to bring a few originals that weren't requested, divorce decrees, and my criminal check, which I had thought we sent in..but just a copy, my bad. All the other usual stuff off the sheet, domicile, photos, phone logs, emails and facebook screen shots. Copy of bills and a few other things as well as the documentation regarding our Expedite. I pray it goes well, I'm soo nervous that I'm sick.

I hope it all works out positively as I want and need to get back home. I'll let you guys know what happens when I get back in about a week.
