The thread about associating with communism reminded me that I was asked a rather weird question at the interview.

"Have you ever had anything to do with a member of law enforcement?"

Had me thinking for a couple of seconds. I said, no. But I have a very close friend who used to be a cop, does that count as having something to do with a law enforcement agent? :blink:

I got my interview scheduled two weeks after calling them, skipping the "in line for interview scheduling" step.

And the CS I talked to yesterday said my waiting wasn't so bad coz it hasn't been 120 days. I'm wondering if after I hung up he thought "Shoot, I better warn her DO before she sueS them with Writ of Mandamus" LOL...

I wonder if this (skipping a step) happens to a lot of people. I certainly hope so.

I did my FP as scheduled more than two weeks ago, called teh FBI and was told that the result was sent back to USCIS on the same day. My online status still says "initial review...mailed you a fingerprint notice...blah blah blah"...

I actually received the Yellow Letter two days after I received my FP notice back in early July. I have no idea what that meant as I thought the Yellow Letter was issued after they have finished reviewing your file and they have sent to the interview queue. Of course when I called the customer service, it only made me more confused.

My senator is involved and when I called for follow-up today I was told I would hear back soon. Apparently it can take up to 30 days from when they receive your request for assistance. Congrats to everyone else who's moving forward!!

My senator is involved and when I called for follow-up today I was told I would hear back soon. Apparently it can take up to 30 days from when they receive your request for assistance. Thanks, winterpassing! Hope you'll finally hear from them very soon. I know exactly how you feel. It was almost 2 mos for me from interview till this case status notification and it took a toll on me from getting too impatient. You see, now that I have been scheduled, it wouldn't matter if the ceremony would be on Christmas day. At least I know that I have a ceremony to go to. Not having a date to hold on to is such a pain. You know what I mean?

You might notice that my interview was scheduled 3.5 months after fingerprinting and 2.5 months after the YL. So I wouldn't worry just yet, and it certainly was way too early for you to call them.
