FInally some action...my status changed late yesterday.

Your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION is now scheduled for interview. You will receive a written notice with a time and place for your interview. You should receive this notice within 14 days. If you do not receive this notice within 14 days from June 7, 2011

Don;t know what day of course, but now I hope it's after July 4th...I was thinking of going to viist my parents on the long weekend. Beggars can't be choosers though, I'll take whatever they give me.

Had my interview today. It was for 11:10am but I was called at 11:00. My IO was Mark, really nice guy. All went really well and spent a lot of time talking about other things than the application. the questions were:

Who is the father of our country?

How many voting members?

Which month do we vote for President?

Name of chief justice?

War fought by US during 1900's?

We elect a US representative for how long?

And what does the Oath mean to me. He said my answer was the best he had heard..ha ha

Went through (fast) line by line my application and stamped my file 'Approved' in a big red stamp.

Said I should get a letter in approx; 2 weeks and Oath 2 weeks later (but we will see).

He didn't get me to sign my photos, so did he forget and should I check, and if so how?

I have his name (on the N-652) but no phone number etc.

Looking at the USCIS site, the new digital certificates that they are now rolling out have digital photos and signatures.

Looks like that is why I didn't need to sign my photos.

When asked the USCIS said:

Question: If ASCs will capture digital photos of N-400 applicants, why must applicants still provide hard-copy photos?

Answer: The hard-copy photos will be required as a back-up in case of unforeseen issues, allowing them to continue their naturalization process without delay.

So maybe this is why I wasn't asked to sign photos, they are using the new digital type and the digital photos that were taken at the fingerprint appointment will be used.

Can someone please pencil me in for a July 13th interview on the list?

Unfortunately it's at 1:40pm, so I'm unsure what that will mean for OATH - aince if I am early enough at the Fairfax office, they have same day oaths frequently.

Anyhoo - happy it's after my July 1 vacation back home....just wait on the day I guess - I am so staying home from work that day, I'd be a freaking mess by the time I had to drive down.

congrats!

I don't even care if I get the same day Oath anymore. I just want the interview... Unless I receive the IL next week with the appointment date within 4 weeks, I'm going to run out of the 5 months time frame.

come to think about it, I knew about the pictures. I was told at the FP appointment that the picture would go on the certificate. Completely forgot until just now.

Can someone please pencil me in for a July 13th interview on the list?

Unfortunately it's at 1:40pm, so I'm unsure what that will mean for OATH - aince if I am early enough at the Fairfax office, they have same day oaths frequently.

Anyhoo - happy it's after my July 1 vacation back home....just wait on the day I guess - I am so staying home from work that day, I'd be a freaking mess by the time I had to drive down.

As far as I know I heard the oath is at 4PM so you probly will be able to do the oath on the 13th. I will tell u more on the 22nd hahahah

01/26/11(00) --> Sent via USPS to TX Lock box N-400 w/ I-912(fee waiver)

02/01/11(07) --> Received by USCIS confirmed by UPS

02/22/11(28) --> Received I-797(NOA) from USCIS for I-912 being approved

03/02/11(36) --> Received I-797(NOA) for biometrics notification

03/22/11(56) --> Went to ASC Alexanderia for Biometrics

04/18/11(83) --> Got the Yellow Letter
