Had my interview yesterday! In and out in less than 30 minutes. Brought all my paperwork and the only thing he was really interested in was tax documents and my cards (passport, ID cards, RA card). Reviewed my application, did my reading/writing test, answered 6 civics questions and was approved! July 14th is my oath ceremony if someone could update for me! Thanks!! And good luck to those still waiting!!

Since we're in the same area - who did you schedule the info pass with - the Alexandria office where we get FP done?

I wonder who schedules the interview - does the service center do that? or the local office schedules the interview. I always thought that the service center schedules the interview once the person is cleared from the FBI and then they transfer the case to the local office?

Thanks everyone! It was amazing what the guy had in my file. There was info on me from 1973! He made me copies since he stated they would eventually be going paperless at some point. It was nice to have a date when I left the office vs waiting (again!) for a letter in the mail. I learned more about our government practicing for the civics test than I ever did in high school government class!

When is your appointment - Is your fingerprinting completed and they send it back to USCIS. I waited 5 years for this patiently but now it is hard to wait anymore, lol.

My fingerprint was on Mar.22nd my infopass is on may 20th at 3pm.

I believe the local office, in our case Washington field office which is in Fairfax... schedules it. It is always backed up, but I find waiting like this ridiculous.

Well – I phoned USCIS this morning and the lady confirmed that they have not sent me anything else since the FP letter – like an appt letter or an RFE. She said to just sit tight and if it gets to be middle of July (since 5 mons is the estimated processing time)then I should call again

I am at least satisfied that I have not missed a letter at least.

Are you sure you couldn't just call in like I did? Saves time - my case doesn't even appear to be transferred yet to Fairfax. The lady was fairly helpful, although some of her answers were canned. They can;t really tell you WHY it's held up unless there was an RFE or something they're waiting for.

Did you talk to a tier 2 person? If not, then your call was useless as the tier 1 person only know what 'you' can see on uscis website. If you spoke with a tier 2 person then you will most likely see an update on your case. Good luck buddy.

I spoke to a level 2 person last week Wednesday and was told that my file had been transferred to the local office and was in queue for scheduling. No update online still...it still refers to them mailing me my fingerprint notice.

At this point I probably will not call back until July - while I am a little irritated, I don't plan to pester them until the 'average' deadline has been met.

I thought it was interesting to note that she mentioned they can see how many times you've called in (I assume if you've spoken to a live person, they add a note) so I don't plan to pester or be a jerk unless I am outside the expected window

I guess I got someone in a good mood. After she went through her spiel of reading to me the same thing that I see when I check my status online, I asked her if it would be possible for me to speak with a level 2 officer. I told her that I heard that they have more access to more information, and that since I had completed my fingerprints over a month ago, I would love to check if my case has been transferred yet. And she transferred me.
