There wasn't much wrong with the original movies that needed fixing and the little details that they could have fixed (the strange way that lightsabres in ep 4 and 5 cast a shadow) they didn't.

Now the new trilogy - I'm all for tinkering with the prequels, though I think nothing less than a complete return to the drawing board will make them any less $hit.
