If you ignore the graph, and actually look at the data points, you would realize what the data is actually telling you: That for the last 130 years, annual mean temperatures in the continental US have been fairly consistent, with a standard deviation of less than one degree Celsius.

I have to ask, how exactly do you think science research projects work? If I am supposed to accept that there is a huge hoax going on I also have to believe that climate scientists world wide are deliberately manipulating data and apparently the reason why they are doing this is to obtain more funding to perpetuate the hoax. Now, I know that the idea of man being able to influence the global climate is a bit of a difficult concept for some people to grasp, but surely the idea that climate scientists abandoned all pretense at doing any real research more than 20 years ago simply in order to line their own pockets (because money is really what makes a scientist tick) and that this has been happening in every country in the world requires a huge leap into irrationality. I know which makes more sense to me.

How do you match your feelings up with the fact that it isn't getting any warmer, every prediction they have made has been totaly wrong and they even felt the need to even change what they are calling it to Climate Disruption? What started out as just a theory has gained a life of its own. People have their lives and repretations tied into the idea that CO2 is destroying the planet. A lot of them can't back out without throwing their entire careers into the trashcan. Humans are stubborn creatures, they don't want to admit they were wrong.

It was global warming, until the graph started moving the other way. Then every scientist insisted we were heading for a new ice age. Of course, when things appeared to shift again, we began this current craze of global warming. Perhaps by 2020, the ice age crowd will be back in vogue.

Eureka! Have you thought about notifying the bodies of science that study climate since they obviously have overlooked what you've been able to figure out by just looking at on the internet? You armchair scientists are friggin geniuses.

Yes. If we look at the global mean, the temperature increase since 1880 is less the 1 degree celcius, but the trend has always been upward. Both global and US mean temperatures are higher now than 1880, and there hasn't been an appreciable downward trend.

All of the years of low temperatures in the 1960's and 1970's were all higher than the 1880's. The data points for the last 10 years are the highest on record.

The biggest problem of course is that 130 years of data is very small when you are talking about changes of 1 degree ov a one hundred year period.

Yeah, except for the last 20 years. The total change since the turn of the century has only been 1 deg!!Yeah, real crisis we have here!

You are looking at the small picture now. I didn't claim we have a crisis right now, and I didn't claim anything more absurd either. The overall trend has been upward since we have been recording temperature. The last 10 years have been higher than any other on record(globally). The same can be said for atmospheric CO2 concentration.

If the temperature goes up 1 degree every 100 years that's going to be a problem at some point. Unfortunately we only have 130 years of data on.
