Got married 22 January (K-1 Visa) and getting ready to send in the 485 Form for adjustment of status. Look at the form instructions and it doesn't (at least i didn't see it) indicate which name to use on the form. We already went to Social Security Office and her SSN card will be here within 2 weeks.

Does she put her maiden name (which she filed K-1 Visa under) or does she use her 'new' married last name on the I-485??

This qn is asked and answered a lot. She puts the name she wants on her GC on the AOS forms. If she wants her maiden name she puts her maiden name, if she wants her married name she puts her married name. The marriage certificate serves as proof of name change.

It's better to use her married name now. She can use her married name now provided she has a marriage certificate. Thats what i did.
