They say similar things about Americans. Specifically about people from the south. I am Texan and could care less. The show is excellent. I am the Stig.

Everything is not so much better no, but clearly this yet again demonstrates that the rhetoric from certain posters about how restricted life is in the UK under evil socialist librul big govmint is utter bunk; publicly funded comedy programs are not boring, safe and politically correct at all, who knew? Though I agree with you in general, I wouldn't quite let the BBC off the hook that easily. It's an extremely bloated corporation, over-funded, churning out reams and reams of populist content which ought to be left to commercial stations.

Oh, the BBC is not perfect, not at all, plenty of room for criticism; just not the criticism that is normally laid at the door by our American VJ chums

Not sure if I understand your response but let it be known that I have always been easy on BBC but then again I dont demonize Fox News like so many here on VJ do. I think the biggest problem with the UK is that they seem to want to model themselves after the rest of Europe.

Which reiterates the point I made, you have no idea what it's like in the UK and yet you wish to comment on what it's like regardless. What do you believe the bolded sentence means? The rest of Europe is not homogeneous and not all UK citizens want the same things from our association with Europe.
