My son is adjusting from K1. He has had a referral on the Sponsor's information (Aff. of Support). They want more info from the sponsor. The sponsor is inexplicably not coming up with this information. I can only think one of two things. Either it has become to 'official' for him and he is nervous about it. Or he has something to hide about his earnings and is nervous about that, even though we have re-assured him he need have no worries on that score. My question is this. We now only have 2 weeks in which to reply. Can we submit another sponsor with a covering letter? Or, if we must wait for denial, can we submit another application immediately with a new sponsor?

Yes you can,you are allowed Two Co-Sponsor for affidavit if you read the Instructions for I-864.

If the joint sponsor isn't willing to supply the info you can certainly submit an I-864 from another person. You can mention in the cover letter that person A is not going to be a joint sponsor and that person B will be the joint sponsor.

It sounds like the OP is asking about changing to a new Co-Sponsor not simply adding another Co-Sponsor.

Yes, a new joint sponsor can be used if the first one is unwilling or unable to meet the requirements.

It's already been stated that this is not what the OP wants or needs, but just to clarify...

You can only have two joint sponsors if there are more than one immigrant involved, and the immigrants are being divided among the joint sponsors. For example, if there are four immigrants then one joint sponsor could sponsor two of them, and the other joint sponsor could sponsor the other two. You can't stack up joint sponsors for the same immigrant.

Yes, no problem there. Out with the old, and in with the new. You just can't have two joint sponsors approved for the same immigrant. You'll only have one.
