questions for those of you with experience in Morocco

Hello, everyone!!

Abdelhay and i finally received our NOA2 on January 26--so excited!! i've been scouring the forums for information, but i'm hoping to find answers/advice specific to Morocco.

1.) i want to make sure Abdelhay goes to a translator that is certified by the Embassy--he lives in Salé but can travel obviously to Rabat or Casablanca if need be. do you all have suggestions on a certified translator?

2.) i just want clarification that i, as the petitioner, only have one thing to do at this point--sending in the I864 form. furthermore, i send this paperwork to Abdelhay so that he can take it to the embassy, correct?? i assume this information will be in the packet Abdelhay will be receiving soon--i just want a head start.

i've read the long thread specific to Morocco, and Morocco's portal as well, and didn't find anything specifically answering these questions. if i've somehow missed a post regarding these questions, please feel free to guide me to that post!!

2.) You should call the consulate regarding which affidavit of support to send. While a few months ago, they were requiring the I 864, I understand recently they have requested the I 134. Only they can tell you for sure. The packet he receives from them will tell him everything he needs to bring, including his sealed envelope from the medical exam.

You're very welcome. I hope your luck at the consulate is as good as ours was. Stress to your fiance to be open, honest, and remain casual and conversational in his interview. They seem to like that at Casa. They tried their best to slip my husband up, but he stayed calm and spoke to them like he was sitting in a cafe with them and they seemed to appreciate that. He even got the Chief consular laughing a couple times and he said after that, things went smoother. I cannot stress enough how much consular specific research helped us. Not so much the procedural stuff, but reading up about the attitudes of the COs and figuring out how to talk to them. I'm sure you guys will do fine.

there is so many certified translators in Sale and Rabat( near Bad al Had) especially. he can go to anyone who does translate from arabic to english, it cost 120 Dirhames for each document.make sure there is no mistakes on the translated documents, verify them carefully caus they do a lot of mistakes very often.

for k-1 they do not ask for affidavit of support when interviewd,they`ll ask for it after your get married here in the states,but to avoid any delay or problem , you fill the I-134 form , it should be certified but a US notary , send it to your fiance in Morocco, he`ll have to take it with him to his interview .
