Slips given to Beneficiary

I am curious after reading several posts here on VJ about different colored slips that are sometimes handed to the Beneficiary at the interview.... I have read that some given are Pink, Blue or Green and what is the difference?

I think it depends on the consulate. At the consulate in Accra Ghana, white means ur petition has been temporarily refused (221g) it has a list of what other documents they need and a new interview date. Yellow means they require some last document to reach a final decision on your case ( usually a good sign)it has a new interview date on it . Blue is a visa collection/pickup ticket you get this after a succesful interview, it has a date and time on it to pick up your visa.

It does seem to depend on the Consulate.

I had my interview in London two days ago and they gave me a pink slip after I was done with the first ConOff (not sure how it works in other Consulates, but in London you see two ConOffs - the first one gathers all your paperwork, scans your photographs, takes your fingerprints etc. while the second one just reviews the file with all your documentation, asks you a few questions and tells you if you're approved).

The pink slip was given to me by the first ConOff and I was told to fill it out while waiting to be called back by the second ConOff. Turns out I had to hand it in at the courier's desk after I was told I was approved.

I see.... I have read that sometimes the slips arent such a good thing.... does anyone know anything about that instance.... yes I am a worry wart and very inquisitive as well :blush:

I wouldn't worry about it. In my case it was just a form on pink paper where I had to fill out my name, address, phone numbers and email address, and the courier took this along with my payment. They then issued me a receipt that also contained my tracking number and the courier's contact details.

If this is going to put your mind to rest, I suggest trying to find out what different slip colors mean in your specific Consulate. Perhaps the Embassy reviews and the regional forums here on VJ would be a good source of info.

Yep sometimes the slips aren't such a good thing, the white slip means the CO is would have declined your petition outright but he has follow proceedure and give you a second chance !! The yellow slip means they are almost done, they just need one last document e.g your medical/police report has expired, or they need tax transcripts for some years. When you get the white slip , you are looking at an interview date of 5 months or more in the future , on the yellow slip its just 2 weeks or one month. In countries where they don't trust the postal system to deliver your passport with the visa, they ask you to pick it up yourself hence the blue slip.

Yep it is, on the slip it says " Visa collection ticket" with date and time. It also advises the holder not to make any travel plans because they sometimes have delays.

Btw im talking about the accra consulate
