I dont have a trip planned right now but I do want to get this paper in case something comes up.. should I just put a random date?? Im pretty confuse there.. also in one section it says that if I am applying for Advance Parole documento to skip to Part 7... should I send with this form even the pages that will be blank ? .. I just dont want mess up anything.. please help

You can put "in case emergency travel is necessary" or anything general.

When it comes to forms: read accurately, interpret literally, and follow instructions exactly, si man. :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

We worded it in this way too, "No trip currently planned, but requesting authorization to travel in case of family emergency arising before status is adjusted." And my wife's AP was approved without any problems.

Did you send the blank pages? you know how it says skip to part 7.. its probably dumb to ask.. I just want to make sure I do the right thing... im also confused with the form I-693 Medical report.. because I know I dont need a whole medical exam .. just the vaccination part .. so the Civil Surgeon is not supposed to fill the whole form.. just the vaccination part right? so should I send the complete form? or leave out the pages that are not filled out?... aaah I need help!

My advise is that you don't leave any blanks. Before applying for my AOS I had to make a trip to the local USCIS office (for reasons unrelated to AOS) and the officer there offered to give me details about how to apply (even though I knew most of what she said from VJ! VJ rocks!!!). Anyway, she said that for AP I can write whatever date I want in that section (but to make sure it's about 3 months in advance...and as for reason, "visiting family" works just fine. So if you apply soon, you can write the date of May 15, 2011 for example...

Yes you skip to part 7. That's what is says to do. :)

AP is routinely approved for pending AOS applications. Don't worry too hard - they won't deny it. Just fill it out and that's it.

me bad! I didn't read carefully that part. Yes, skip to part 7 as they tell you to, but don't leave any unnecessary blanks.

Yes. Include all pages.

Do not put a "fake date". If you don't have a trip planned, don't put a date because it's a lie. it's never good to lie on the forms. Put "unknown" and "unknown". They are aware that it's an emergency travel document for the majority of people and it's hard to plan an emergency...

No reason for travel is required. The instructions say that if applying for AOS that is your reason and no "extra page stating eligibility" is required.

The AOS thread in my signature has the required docs list and no extra page is mention. Approved with no RFE's in less than 3 months :)
