All of those documents are "suppose to be there." But things get lost and dropped between desks. Have a copy of the AOS but most importantly have his original tax forms and w-2s. It's also good to have at least his last 6 pay stubs. Don't give them a reason to raise an eye at you. I was with my wife at her interview and she was asked for my original w-2s but not recent pay stubs.

my husband was the one who send those to nvc. do i need to have a copy of it from him or will the documents send to nvc be returned to me during the interview?

forgive me. i'm really clueless. thanks in advance

The NVC is supposed to forward them, but I would have a copy of the affidavit of support. They didnt ask my wife when she had her interview last april, but I did send her everything anyway. Better to be prepared than be delayed because they are missing or ask for something else.

What if you don't have the W-2"s..and just the statements from the IRS?

NVC forwards everything to the Embassy. However it is always good to have all the copies in hands during the interview, most important the AOS (Affidavit of Support).

Based on what I have read here on VJ, that most applicants were asked for it and only a couples were not (including myself..they didn't ask for mine), so be sure to have yours with you.

Good Luck!

IRS tax transcripts are fine, but they don't replace recent pay stubs.

Yes that is what I did. I actually scanned and e-mailed to my wife everything so she got it quicker. Then she just took it to get printed out.

What if you don't have the W-2"s..and just the statements from the IRS?

You dont need w-2s if you have tax transcripts.
